2015 vintage; drank 11/21/15 @ Harvest Hop Haus.
Black/brown appearance.
Almost no tan head; almost no lace.
Brown sugar, bourbon, maple syrup & oak notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Maple syrup, roasted coffee bean & milk chocolate flavors up front; smooth bourbon & rich vanilla notes on the finish.
Unbelievably rich, complex & delicious. Possibly the best beer I've ever tasted.

Slight maple and coffee nose; sweetness is modest with a soft char-taste on back of palate. Very enjoyable! -- Whale event 8/19/17

750ml bottle poured into a snifter
A- pours deep black in color with a small creamy khaki head that has short retention and leaves nothing behind
S- smells of sweet maple, roasted malt, bourbon barrel & charred malt
T- hint of maple sweetness up front gives way to sweet chocolate and caramel, as well as a hint of barrel character, giving some woody oak and bourbon notes. The finish gives tons of roast, lingering of charred malt and a hint of smoke
M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a slick finish

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, blue session. Dark brown color with fizzy brown foam. Aroma is sweet with toffee an dark fruits, mostly raisins. Taste is also sweet, malty, sticky with dried fruits and bourbon. Finish is more bitter and dry.

Poured on draft at the Creature Comforts 3rd Anniversary Tour. Appearance is thick and viscous and completely black with minimal head. Taste is a perfect combination of maple, chocolate, and bourbon with layers upon layers of flavor. Some barrel/wood and tasted notes were also present. However, chocolate and maple are most prevalent with just enough bourbon to add another dimension. Mouthfeel was smooth and thick but not super heavy (it didn't need to be) with relatively low carbonation.
Overall, this beer is unreal good. The layers of flavors are perfectly executed, and the mouthfeel is extremely smooth. None of the oxidation that is present in Existence shows up here, possibly hidden by the maple or the different barrels used. This stout finds a nice balance between heavy and flavorful yet drinkable. If you are sipping this by a fire, I am jealous.

Was lucky enough to track one of these down and enjoyed it the other night for my 41st birthday with a friend… Tons of maple on the nose and although a little thin this has a nice maple finish with some chocolate and smooth bourbon
