12oz can, sample from the brewery.

Lots of haze, a decent looking brew. It has a tasty Berliner Weiss base, tartness is nearly at a perfect level. Soft funk behind the fruitiness of the Guava and Passion Fruit. Well balanced and the addition of fruit works well here. Glad to run into more variants of this brew, without a doubt they should continue to push forward with them.

12 ounce can - $3.32 at Schoolhouse Beer and Brewing in Marietta, Georgia.

ON: 08/25/17

Appearance: Pours a clouded, dulled golden body with a very thin, very brief, white head.

Smell: The aroma is fresh and bright with a scent of just-juiced guava and p-fruit. Slight fetid notes of lactic laced wheat underneath thick layer of fruit.

Taste: Tart with a nice, upfront burst of acidity. Juicy, tropical fruitiness, also some lemony citrus. Lactic twang midway. Remains juicy and fruity through the acidic finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Lightly carbonated.

Overall: It's more juice than beer.

Nice version of their Berliner Weiss. Had out of the 12 oz can. Beautiful burst of tart passion fruit right out of the gate, followed by sweeter guava and a nice salty tang at the end. Very well balanced, super refreshing, but full flavored. Excellent.

12 ounce can dated 10/30/18. Poured into tulip.
Pours a muddled, dull orange, with a finger plus of head white.
Aroma is straight passion fruit candy.
Passion fruit, guava, slight sour peel, Sweetart candies taste. I feel like an umbrella in this glass is not out of the question here.
Lightly tart, light drinking, lingering sweet tart finish. Super tasty and a change of pace for this sour/tart newbie.

Appearance - The beer was a murky yellow orange color with a white head. It is a little too murky for carbonation to be visible.

Smell - Huge passion fruit nose, more so than the guava.

Taste- At first, I note tart bubbly wheat. Then the tart hop-like presence of guava and sweetness of passion fruit appears. I love it, but I wish the fruit was stronger. I think most Berliners finish like cheap diet soda, but this one maintains the sourness of the fruit.

Mouthfeel - The body isthick and really clings. Did the fruit smother the carbonation?

Overall - I am not huge of the style. I will say this is the best Berliner I have ever had.

12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 1.99. Canned 8/18/16. Served in a Creature Comforts nonic pint glass.

Pours a fuzzy, opaque peach gold with an initial three fingers of white foam. That initial head vanishes quickly, leaving thin rail around the edge but no lacing.

Huge, juicy, inviting guava on the nose with a portion of passion fruit sweetness and vaguely tart fruit pulp. The fruit smells incredible.

An initial flavor punch of lacto sourness is joined by juicy guava, bittersweet passion fruit and some faint wheat. The huge fruit flavor keeps me coming back. Utterly delicious.

Light body with soft carbonation. Tart, juicy guava and mild wheaty grains in the finish.

The base Athena is simply OK for my tastes but this fruited variant is fantastic. The strong guava presence in the nose and flavor make this one if the most delicious Berliners I've had. I really hope this crosses my path again in less limited quantities.
