750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 5/2016. Pours lightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, tangerine, orange peel, melon, pear, apple, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, light funk, wheat, cracker, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, lemon/oranges, citrus/earthy hops, light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, tangerine, orange peel, melon, pear, apple, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, light funk, wheat, cracker, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of peppery yeast spiciness and slight tangy citrus tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, tangerine, orange peel, pear, apple, peppercorn, hay, straw, floral, grass, light funk, wheat, cracker, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, lemon/oranges, citrus/earthy hops, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, dry, fairly prickly/foamy, and lightly grainy/sticky/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is an awesome fruited saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, lemon/oranges, citrus/earthy hops, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; and not overly abrasive on the high carbonation. Not a whole lot of funk from the Brett, but still really well rounded in complexity for a saison; with great citrus fruit balance. A really enjoyable offering.

a heady collaboration with arizona wilderness, neat these guys hooked up. this is a wild citrus saison, served to me from the bottle, a little warm, which i think exacerbates both the fruit and the brett, and i was in love with this after just a brief interaction with it, neither of these guys can do any wrong right now, and i was stoked to get to drink on this one. the orange and the lemon are so forward here, past essential oils to like aroma therapy levels, strong as can be, pungent and almost perfume, but also really true to the fruits, just lots of it. this base saison may not ever get the credit it deserves, but it has a big dry puffy wheaty body and relaxed cereal complexion, some cool fruity yeast, and a nice brett secondary quality that makes this dry enough for the citrus fruits to really pop. huge fan of the intensity of this, its more citrus than i have seen in something like this, and it ends up being really unique beer overall. effervescent wild carbonation is lifted and enormous, a highlight of this for me, and there seems to be a dry hopped juiciness on the back end too with the brett. funky enough, lots of citric acidity but not sour, and a wonderful depth of field. the highlight from my recent trip to kansas city without question. how does this not have higher ratings?! one of the best beers ive had this year.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, yellow session. Aroma is tart, fruity and juicy. Taste is more spicy, citrusy with yeast notes and light brett funk.

The aroma seemed good at first, but then I detected something funky. The taste reminds me a bit of a dry white wine but in a good way. I liked the dryness and enjoyed its feel before swallowing. Saisons are not my usual thing, but there are a few that appeal to me.
