Very nice dark purple "red vine-ish" color with no head at all. Nose - black currants, lots of them it really does smell nice. It's very carbonated beer (yes it's still beer) tastes like black currants but you can really taste malts there too. It's strong, but alcohol is so hidden there, it seemes you can drink a lot of that stuff. it's a good brew but only if you like fruit beers - it's really "fruity"

I am going to say that I like this beer but I wish that it had more cellarability. It drinks like a 5% beer which is not a bad thing but I feel cellaring would destroy the fruit which nicely comes out in the finish. This is Belgian yeasted all right but the beer lacks real complexity. Good beer but seems too drinkable.

One-year aged bottle, courtesy of Rob the brewer. One bottle there then one put into our luggage as well. An above average fruit beer with Belgian abbey yeast messaging the mouth and soft parts. A good nose of fruit. Well malted, well balanced as not too tart not too sweet, the fruit is right there. Unique.
Second bottle was fine, observed reddish cloudiness and oapy moderate head. Yeast and tanginess.

Limited, bottle only Belgian-style fruit beer from Spinnakers.

Grape-juice purple colour with a thin white head. Sweet, fruity smell that is loaded with malt, brown sugar and toffee.

Taste is slightly sour fruit, candi sugar, molasses and a slight citrus note, maybe from the hops.

Oddly smooth moutfeel. Nice to drink, but bitter, acrid aftertaste.

A unique beer; I've never seen one done with black currant. Not the best, but a very commendable effort.
