A cozy pub in downtown Greenfield, MA. Typical Friday night crowd means the pub is buzzing but not overcrowded or overly loud. A variety of seating options: bar, high tops, regular tables, booths and outdoor seating when the weather is cooperating.

Beer selection is diverse with a wide range of breweries and styles, however sometimes a bit IPA heavy. The taps frequently rotate which makes coming in a delight due to the newness of styles/breweries represented.

This pub doesn't serve food but are very accommodating with BYO food.

The bartenders are always friendly and social.

I attended an event for the release of a new saison by Bear and Brumble Brewing Company at Seymour. Located right downtown, Seymour is a very easy walk to from most places in Greenfield and there is plenty of parking around the town. I believe that, in some way, Seymour is related to the staff/owners/workers of the Dirty Truth in Northampton.

When you enter, you see a decent size bar area with maybe 6-8 seats and about 5-6 large group tables across the bar. I may be mistaken, but i do believe they have an outdoor bar area. It was crowded that night, most likely for the beer release. I sat next to a man who claimed the bar is typically more relaxed and less crowded than on that particular night.

The establishment was very clean and well organized. It did not have a sleek, modern appearance, but it had a lot of wood, glassware, bookcases, and large windows onto the street to people watch. The generally dim lit atmosphere did make it seem to be a laid back establishment, but tonight was crowded and loud.

Service was good, especially with the crowd. I noticed only 2 staff in charge with 1 managing and talking to the crowd. Nevertheless, the main staff person was very attentive to me and I greatly appreciated that on such a busy night.

In terms of selection, I can see the family tree of Dirty Truth with the place in some ways. The bar only really has 8 or 10 things on tap and to my recollection no bottles. Still, they created a well crafted menu for a craft person's needs, especially in New England. For the evening, I had Bear and Bramble, Beer'd, Brick and Feather, and Allagash. I noticed also Honest Weight, Relic, and Medusa. I will note that Seymour seems to be a place with a ton of cider and mixed drink options, which is a nice plus if you somehow are not in a beer mood.

Overall, I really dug this place and hope to frequent it more often.
