12 oz. bottled poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Clear and golden with a not-so-fluffy looking head. It's gone quickly. Some lacing remains. Is it just me or do Belgian-style ales have difficulty retaining a head?
Smell - Spicy with a distinct yeasty aroma. Smells like a tripel. Nothing really complex. I can't pick out exactly what spices this beer claims to have in it.
Taste - Fresh, clean flavor. Slight funk and other spice notes. Again, nothing complex, but quite enjoyable. A bit bland, I guess, compared to other tripels.
Mouthfeel - Very light body with moderate carbonation. It's dangerously drinkable. I could have put away a lot of these very quickly. The downside is that it's extremely dry in the finish. It's a real turn-off.
Overall - It's good and it's easy to drink. It's nothing amazing, but there isn't anything glaringly wrong with it. I would be happy drinking this regularly.

This Beer Nails EXACTLY what a Belgian Tripel is Supposed to Be ! AND You Probably Wont Like It ! BUT I Love it because of it's Accuracy and Overall Oddness, the 9.5% ABV is awesome.. Typically a $3.50 24oz Beer I'll snag when available .. A 12 pack is a but much unless you're a Collector.

Working for a Belgium based company, I traveled there many times and tasted many beers. While this doesn’t match the best Belgian tripels, it’s a good example of the style. A little more flavor forward with the spices than the Belgian brews. Noticed a few very low ratings for this beer which are totally undeserved. If your beer of choice is an IPA or lager, this may not be a beer for you. And it’s not an everyday beer for most people. I’ve had it several times over the years and it’s consistent and worth trying if you like the style or want something a little different than a typical ale or lager. Like most tripels, the ABV can sneak up on you.

Strong bananas foster taste. Banana, caramel, some spice. Strange, heavy, but not bad.

Terrible. I wanted to puke after the first sip. The damage done to my taste buds can never be undone.

By far the worst beer I have ever tried. couldn't drink even half of it. Poured it out before almost puking.

Golden Monkey indeed. Bright golden colored with thin wispy head. Bonus points for a beautiful color and loses points for lack of head. Rich ripe banana aroma and fresh baked bread. Taste like banana bread. It's damn good. Full bodied mouthfeel. This was better than I expected. I will be returning to it often.

One of the best belgium tripels out there. I've had Westmalle, St Bernardus, Tripel Karmeleit, etc and this is right up there. Incredible smell, taste is up there with the best of them, and great color and head. And considering it's priced better than most other trippels, it's a must have.

Amber/copper colored body with a good size white head. Aroma: sweet fragrance of fermented grains, banana, caramel & ripe apple. Flavors: banana, pepper, spices, apple, straw & more pepper on the finish. Feel: slightly thin with excellent carbonation, no alcohol detected. Overall: slightly unusual flavor but not in a bad way. Very enjoyable tripel.

Appearance - Pours pale straw with clear body. Large, creamy head with good retention. Fair amount of lacing.
Aroma - Some pepper and clove phenols. Lemon. Light hop aroma with floral esters. Light malt sweetness.
Taste - Light malt with a peppery, dry finish. Citrus esters, notably lemon. Hop bitterness present but subdued by balance of malt.
Mouthfeel - Medium body with moderate carbonation.
Overall - Higher ABV than taste would suggest. Probably not in my personal Top 20 Triples, but a solid American interpretation of a Belgian Triple available countrywide.

Very good. Subtle Belgian Tripel without super florals and spices but with the notes; abv well hidden in malt and hops - good lacing, good essence, not as overpowering as their Sour Monkey but with same strong backbone. A great beer from a great brewery, love how they have not sold out to larger company! Go Victory!
