Malt: Imported two-row German malts, including wheat

Flavor
High-powered with all German malts and the subtle, spicy complexity of our special yeast, Mad King's Weiss offers a quenching quality that can't be beat.

Pours a murky golden color.
The beer is very heavly carbonated, with a very foamy, frothy head, that lasted for quite a while.
The nose has banana notes to it.
The taste is got the standard banana feel to it that is in a wheat beer. it has a crisp aftertaste/feel to it. Delicious

I found this Hefeweizen to be a bit too hoppy / malty for my liking. I like hoppy beers, but not necessarily in Hefeweizens. If I'm drinking a Hefeweizen, I want lots of banana-clove flavor with a bit of yeasty funk. This Hefeweizen isn't awful, but I think I'm going to stick with the German stuff.

Best German style Hefeweizen I've ever tried by an American Brewery. It's simply fantastic.

The beer comes in a yellow gold color.

The aroma offers floral hops, orange peel, honey sweetness, a Belgian yeast quality.

The flavor follows with that wheat and honey sweetness throughout. Hints of banana and bubble gum. Crackery malts, with a light hop bitterness.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy blonde color ale with a nice pure white foamy head. Aroma of light wheat malt with dry hoppy finish. Taste is a mix of wheat malt notes with light sweet notes offset by some dry non-descript hops notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but seems like this one is stuck between the classic weizen and the hoppyweizen and is not sure where to go at.

-Banana, yeast, apple, hop bite, crisp wheat, cracker
-Medium, crisp, ok carbonation

-good brew. Mix between a Hefeweizen and pilsner.

The bottle is a beautiful blue underused in many label designs -- really sticks out on the shelf. I love Victory's brews, but this was a pretty big let-down. Not much in the way of enticing smells or flavors. It was drinkable and quenching on a hot summer day, but otherwise not really noteworthy. I wouldn't buy it again with so many quality hefes available.
