The bottle is a beautiful blue underused in many label designs -- really sticks out on the shelf. I love Victory's brews, but this was a pretty big let-down. Not much in the way of enticing smells or flavors. It was drinkable and quenching on a hot summer day, but otherwise not really noteworthy. I wouldn't buy it again with so many quality hefes available.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy straw yellowish orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of white head that settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A grainy and floral wheat driven aroma with a scent of yeast, grains, and subtle fruit. Wheat with hints of straw, grains, biscuit, cracker, and Hefeweizen. Hints of clove and bubblegum. Fruit hints of banana, lemon, apple, and orange. Light floral hop presence with hints of spice and grass. A solid wheaty aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a nicely bready, grainy, and floral wheat driven taste with notes of grains, yeast, and fruit. Upfront taste of wheat with notes of grains, straw, biscuit, cracker, and Hefeweizen yeast. Notes of bubblegum and clove. Fruit notes of lemon, banana, apple, and light orange. Subtle hop presence with some floral, grassy, and spicy notes. A pretty nice taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, creamy, and smooth with a drying finish.

Overall: A pretty solid take on a Hefeweizen. Nice combo of bready, spicy, and fruity flavor.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a nice big white head. In the aroma, big dry banana, and just a small hint of spice. In the taste, dry banana, clove, and spices. A smooth and medium mouthfeel and a semi dry banana aftertaste. Good flavors of banana and spices, easy to drink and a good body.

A: Pours a lightly hazed straw yellow color with 2+ fingers of head that fades down to a creamy cap

S: Clove and banana right up front, with some yeast presence and other lightly spicy and fruity notes. Standard hefe notes

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the yeasty notes, banana, and clove. Goes into some lightly spicy notes accompanied by a nice fruitiness. Wheat more prevalent in the finish

M: Light-medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation

O: A great example of an American-made hefe. Classic banana and clove steal the show and make for a very refreshing brew. Definitely recommended

@ Victory

Hazy golden color under a thick pillow of white foam. Very pleasant hefeweizen aroma...clove, flowers, oranges, and some subtle wheat and biscuit. Bubblegum, clove, dried banana sweetness over saltines, wheat, and peppery spice. Good depth of flavor and aroma with a noticeable freshness - it's not just a simplistic banana and clove bomb. Medium bodied, smooth, and refreshing. A very enjoyable weissbier.

Pours a half finger of head on a hazy light straw body.
The aroma is dry grains and a little lemon. Nice.
The taste is "wheat", lemon and a little spicy at the end. Good profile.
The texture is crisp.
Quite enjoyable.

Sampled from a growler I picked up at the brewpub when I last visited (during Reading WWII Weekend 2012).

Poured some into a weissbier glass... It is rather clear, without the typical cloudiness usually found in the style. Color is a medium yellow-gold, with a steady stream of carbo present. Head was initially full and frothy, but it has ebbed to a thin, fine white layer, with little lace to speak of. Aroma has a little clove and bubblegum, though it is a touch on the mild side. The body is solid, and a touch of prickle alights on the tongue.

A bit of sweetness starts things off, with some dry, crackery notes present. There is some banana lurking, but also some added fruitiness leaning towards rindy lemon peel. Fairly hoppy for the style, with some subtle spiciness in the dry finish. Not bad...

Prosit!
