12 oz bottle poured into pilsener glass.

A - Dark amber. Smallish head.

S - General hoppiness. Earthy aroma, small hints of of caramel and smoke.

T - Solid malt backbone. Slight amount of hoppy bitterness. I notice earthy hops. An ever so slight bit of smokiness. Solid malt backbone has elements of toasted wheat bread and earthiness.

D - Slightly thick. About how a Marzen should be. Definitely drinkable.

O - A solid Oktoberfest. I don't drink a lot of this style as so many seem similar to me, and there isn't much variation it seems. This is a solid Oktoberfest though. Somehwta complex, full of flavor and fairly easy to drink. I recommend it.

Look: Dark amber, off white lacing.

Smell: Toasted malt, caramel sweetness, earthly, spicy.

Taste: Toasted wheat bread, Herbal hops, Caramel, nice chocolate after taste in the finish as the brew warms up. Highly drinkable.

Feel: Medium body,soda pop-esque carbonation.

Overall: This is a first for the Marzen style. This is a well polished, well balanced and highly easy drinking brew. This is worthy.

Growler fill straight from the brewery in Downingtown, PA

A: a beautiful dark amber, with a light khaki head. Nice lacing.

S- very bready, with caramel, some light herbal hops.

T- Very forward with the breadiness, then caramel hits, before a big toasted and light herbal hop finish. As good or better than the German offerings.

M- Medium Carbonation and medium body.

O- I love Marzen's and I love Festbier. Bring on more.

09/26/12 On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Great first impression. Tremendous balance with a touch of toasty/burnt sugar. Envision a wide spectrum of flavor with a punch up in the middle w/bittersweet. Seems a bit on the heavy side for more than a pair o' pints, but worthy overall.
