Probably the best DIPA I've had yet. Can't really fairly comment on the look of the head, since I had this on tap and it was overpoured...beer almost up to the rim. The body is slightly darker than straw and transparent, certainly doesn't look very distinctive. Smell is earthy, floral, and with some faint citrus. Taste has more floral notes, grapefruit, orange, some breadiness, and cantaloupe. Not quite as fruit forward as the label says it will be, but I liked it for what it is. It's rich and full flavored. Feel is sticky and sweet initially with the hop bitterness coming in midway through, leaving a super dry finish. I didn't detect any alcohol at any point.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Hazy yellow, with a thin white head.

Smell: Sweeter notes like corn, mild pine notes.

Mouthfeel/ Taste: Smooth light bodied. Taste of bitter hops/pine. With a sweeter finish.

Overall: This one was ok. Not my first choice.

Enjoy by date of May 07, 2016

Appearance - Pours hazy and golden yellow in color with some sediment floating around the glass. The head is off-white and peaks at about a finger's width. Fair retention, then dissipates to reveal a thin, broken layer of suds across the surface. Thin, web-like lacing coats the glass in sections.

Smell - Bright, citrusy aroma with near equal floral character.

Taste - Follows the nose. Orange, tangerine and a touch of grapefruit met by a strong floral presence. The malt is mostly hidden, lending a generic, white bread to the profile. The finish is mostly floral with a touch of astringency from the alcohol.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with low to fair carbonation. Fairly smooth with a drying finish.

Overall - Decent, but too much floral character for my tastes, giving it a near soap or perfume-like tone. I'm glad to have tried it, but I don't think I'd give this one another go.

Poured into a mason jar: color is straw, transparent, head is bright white, fine bubble size/texture, some lacing.

Smell is fresh, floral, and bitter - nothing to pin point or detract from the beer, i.e. solid.

Taste is similarly fresh, floral and bitter - different than the other most recent victory DIPA (dirtwolf) with a cleaner, simpler hop profile and just a touch less malt presence. Not bad just different.

Mouthfeel is very good for the strength and bitterness of the ale, nice carbonation level - nothing to detract.

Overall, a very very good beer - but maybe a bit neutral for the style - either way i would drink again.

Bottle from the COOP.. pours clear dark golden with a nice white head with good lacing... Weird fruitiness that has some yeasty notes that don't really jive with the hops.. Hard to explain.. Standard tangerine/orange zest with something that I normally associate with lemon essence coming from yeast... Also a herbal note that seems out of place... This one is very odd... Not bad, just odd.

Bottle dated Enjoy By 21 May 2016 into pint glass. As I was pouring it, I thought "Holy crap - look how light this stuff is!" Pours a very clear, very pale straw color with a bone-white head. But the light color is misleading: this beer actually has some serious heft to it. The initial impression is lemon, citrus, and grapefruit, with a bready maltiness offsetting (but not completely) the initial hops surge. Fruits come to the forefront as the beer warms. Medium mouthfeel (a little thick for the style) and medium cabonation (about perfect, IMHO). Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Very drinkable, but won't knock Dirtwolf off its pedestal anytime soon.

poured into snifter. looks good with some lingering thin head. nose seems like fresh apples and pear. full mouthfeel with nice coating. taste is up front alcohol and bitter with melon and juicy apple and berry filling up the rest of the palate. interesting beer and I have had a ton of this but as I describe it I feel like it is a little more complex than what I remember. great beer and a def try for ipa lovers.

The color of the beer was golden, and the head formation was very foamy, and large. The aroma was a combination of citric (tangerine, mandarin orange) and tropical (pineapple, melon) fruits. The taste was a lot more citric, with a lemon flavor up front, followed closely by mandarin orange. The bitterness was low, and only showed up late in the finish. The aftertaste was long drawn out, and spicy. The beer felt quite boozy and warm. This was a little odd to me.

A: [4.25] Uber transparent apple juice colored beer. The beer has a 1 1/2 finger head. The head is made of all medium bubbles - which seems unique. The head settles down to just under a finger and then has some staying power. The bottle lists the ABV (9.0%) and there is a best by date (05/21/16 at 6:15pm - which seems really specific!)

S: [2.25] The smell is also unique. I have read "cat pee" as a descriptor and it never really made sense to me - until now. I'd also describe it as a "meat" scent. That might be the closeset thing I can think of here. Maybe additionally pineapple, mango, papaya.

T: [3.50] Doesn't follow the nose (which is good). I get white grapes, pineapple and orange rind.

M: [3.75] Nice heft on the tongue. No lingering bitter flavors. No excessive carbonation.

O: [3.50] The nose on this is WAY different than anything I have had. I can't describe it adequately. The beer itself looks, tastes and "feels" decent but the nose is really off-putting. This is a hard beer to rate. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend because of the nose elements.

pours a straw gold with a solid white head.

smell is strong but not fantastic aroma-wise. smells sweet (but sweet like belgian yeast not fruit).

taste is weird, a very heavy taste. not a fan of this. almost a hoppy saison or hoppy lager.

this is a pretty weird beer, i'll try more of the 4pack in the hopes that it's a bad bottle. off putting.

not bad, i'm drinking more of this a few days later. a very light doubleIPA, strange beer. taste is good but the feel and aroma is very different. i'm ok with being different but it's not a good different.

finishing up the last 3 of my 2 4packs: still an odd beer. it's not bad but it's not great. it's certainly grown on me. very light for a dIPA but the flavor is good.

Enjoy by 17 June 2016

Pours an effervescent straw color with 3+ fingers of eggshell colored head. Shhets of lacing with great head retention

S: Grapefruit peel, light lemon-grass scent

T: Pink grapefruit, lemons, light breadyness & flinty hop bitterness up front. Pretty juicy once warm, loads of grapefruit & a little pomelo & a whisper of pine. Finishes grapefruitty, juicy with just a little woody hop bitterness mixing in with some bready sweetness & golden delicious apple

MF: Light/medium bodied, deft touch on the carbonation ; great balance

Drinks really easy, a grapefruit assault, required just a little more depth of flavor to achieve perfection; damn close! I will buy this all the time if fresh!

This is an odd one and not what I was expecting. The smell is faint spicy earthy with maybe some light fruitiness. The taste is mostly herbal and reminds me of their Harvest IPA. Not juicy and fruit forward as described. Some definite pilsner qualities. nb

ENJOY BY: 21 MAY 2016

A: Pours finger and a half of white head. Dense bubbles form a nice cap of foam. Nice lacing on the glass. Beer is a very slightly hazy yellow/orange. Carbonation is minimal, with small bubbles rising to the surface. Can see miniscule particulants floating in suspension.

S: Strange and a bit hard to bring out specific notes. Getting some spiciness, but not sure from where exactly. Could be hops, malt or yeast. Malts are slightly sweet malt o meal, hops are lightly spicy with some of the dreaded savory "onion/garlic" notes.

T: Bit of soapy bitterness up front. Opens up as a more fruit driven DIPA. Getting red apple and other nondescript stone fruit picking up on the mid palate. Mid palate picks up a fairly sweet malt aspect, with a more spiced fruitiness carrying towards the finish. Finish itself brings back more red apple skin, with the hoppy bitterness being very balanced with the malty sweetness.

M: Mid to slightly heavy on the palate. The malt sugars are definitely discernible, but they don't run the show. The carbonation is subdued, but gives enough to cut through the palate on the tongue. Slightly oily on the back of the tongue, the carb does enough to scrub the palate between each sip.

O: Eh, this one isn't that great. More of a balanced DIPA, this one lacks the punch or even a more dominant hop flavor to

12 oz

Pours a clear deep golden, inch of pillowy white head retains indefinitely.

Smells of honey, citrus, fresh grassy malt, and a light piney hop.

Tastes of honey, grapefruit, pear, light grassy malts, biscuit, and a piney fresh hop finish.

Medium body with tingly carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

Victory already has a world class DIPA in Dirt Wolf, but why not take another stab at it? While this doesn't dethrone Dirt Wolf as one of my all time favorites and favorite from Victory, it's still quite an excellent beer with some nice light fruity characteristics and a grassy maltiness that tends towards a saison-like experience. Certainly worth trying and drinks easy enough to become a seasonal favorite.

Poured from a bottle into a tumbler glass.

Comes in a clear yellow with just a bit chill haze, and a thin white head that leaves spot of lacing.

Smells of lemongrass, gooseberry, straw, and honeydew.

Up front you get a big smack of citrus, grapefruit and lemon, then melon notes, cantaloupe, honeydew, and watermelon; and some gooseberry. The simple pilsner malt base offers cracker, biscuit, and honey, but is very subtle and allows the hops to shine. A mildly bitter aftertaste of grapefruit pith, lemon, and grass.

The mouthfeel is very light, crisp, and well-carbonated. This is dangerously drinkable, as it tastes like a 5% pilsner instead a near triple IPA. No booziness whatsoever detected.

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish; smooth - hides the ABV well;

Golden yellow in color with excellent clarity. Poured with a short, creamy, bright white foam with excellent retention. Medium fresh citrus lemon hop aroma with floral notes beneath. Medium light malt aroma. Medium bodied with a smooth, creamy feel and soft, medium carbonation. Pleasant warming sensation through the middle. Medium high citrus lemon and floral hop flavors up front followed by medium, light bready malt flavors. Medium hop bitterness near the end accompanied by a pleasant, boozy warmth. Finished semi-dryly with light, bitter lemony aftertaste. Bright, fresh hop aromas and flavors nicrly balanced with malt character. Warm ansd boozy without being hot and solvent. Bitterness is on the subdued side which plays nicely into the soft, creamy smooth feel.

Clear straw colored pour with a white one-finger head. Nice juicy citrus aroma. Taste follows the nose with a big but not overly bitter citrus flavor upfront. Can also taste some bright tropical fruit and a hint of grass. Light bodied and drinks very easy for such a high ABV. A little bit of alcohol punch comes through in the finish.

Smell - Dank, grapefruit, slightly herbaceous, some pine, some sweet malts

Maybe it's my taste buds or maybe it's the batch, but this years version is drinking like an IPA/Saison mash-up. I suspect maybe their is something "off" with this first run as the beer does not have the same light straw color that I remember. Tastes good, just not the same as the first two years.

Pours a half finger of head on a clear light straw body.
The aroma is mango, pineapple and grapefruit.
The taste starts with a big pine bitter flavor, it mellows a little but takes the bitterness to the end.
The texture is thicker.
