Loving the nose of this beer. I'm getting mango and pineapple dank sweetness big time. Smells like a juice bomb. Flavor is a bit more piney and grapefruit bitter compared to the scent but good none the less. When I dig further I get slight pineapple and a slight bit of alcohol in the mix too. Fairly decent carbonation and low bitterness on the follow through. Good beer if not the juice bomb I was expecting. Easy to down. For a 9 percent beer, it's pretty smooth.

Hop Ranch is a rather clear looking Imperial Pale Ale that unfortunately lacks a creamy, rich texture or cloudy appearance & is too much on the complex side & lacks the overall pinache that a super-dooper $11 a four pack should have! I'll take a six of Troeggs Blizzard of Hops or Kane Hop Lab Citra any day of the week as daily drinkers. The problem with most Imperial's is that they pack a serious wallup & WOWY does Hop Ranch succeed wildly in the "packs a punch" department.

The sign of a true down-east SERIOUS IPA is cloudy, frothy & soooo good that you just want to take two sips instead of one. With Hop Ranch, you take one sip & spend the next 10 minutes wondering two things.
1. Do I date to take another sip or is it too soon because this beer is akin to drinking grain alchohol
2. What did I just taste? hmmm. Let me see...etc.

All this said, I buy Hop Ranch every now & again. When I want to catch a serious buzz...like, the kids are driving me crazy, or, its the wife's time of the month..etc. So, Hop Ranch does have a purpose in life. Try a 4 pack when you really need it. Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled for those special daily drivers that are out there.

Poured from a chilled 12 oz. bottle into an ale glass.

Looks: Golden yellow with 2 fingers of head and plenty of aeration.
Aroma: Mango, mango, and mango!
Taste: Hops, plenty of fruit, some barley and malt in the background. A gorgeous, complex flavor beer. You have to ruminate on all the flavors that are present here and you have to drink it slowly with reflection.
Mouthfeel: Faint spices, flowers, cloves, and some nice bitterness at the end.
Overall: I love beers that have many dimensions and complexity to them. This one does. I loved it. I hope Victory makes it on a regular basis, not like a seasonal.

Pour is golden in color with a quarter inch white head. Smells of citrus and pineapple. Taste is of a touch of sweet malt, with the pineapple and citrus I got on the smell. Just a slight notice of the alcohol, I really like this.

Tons of oily hop resin all over this beer. Great tropical citrus flavors present on the nose and the tongue - orange, grapefruit and a bit of lemon to compliment all that resin. The bitterness provides a snap and depth but it isn't abrasive. Very slick mouthfeel.

Appearance: pours a golden yellow color with some orange highlights. Nice 1" head falls to some surface bubbles.

Smell: tropical fruits and some floral notes come through to the nose.

Taste: caramel, mango, pineapple, lemon zest, a bit of pine, some grass, and a hearty bitterness. Alcohol is mildly noticeable.

Mouthfeel: medium-heavy in body. Light crispness throughout. Long lasting aftertaste.

Overall: a very enjoyable brew that is well balanced but packs a punch on flavor and is dangerous as this goes down easily but has a high ABV.

Poured from a bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Mostly clear medium to light golden pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. great lacing.

S: Tropical fruits.. pine and citrus.

T/F: Juicy... light malts that are slightly unbalanced by some aggressive hop bitterness. Great tropical fruit notes... grapefruit, orange rind, and honey. Some more sweetness from the high ABV/alcohol. Medium in body... resinous and oily... coats the tongue nicely. Finish is bitter citrus.

O: A really nice dank and juicy DIPA from Victory... vastly better on-tap, but also great in the bottle. A beer that makes me look forward to winter.

Pours a clear, light gold color with little head. Smell is very fruity, tropical fruit and a little floral smell. Taste is of mangoes and pineapples. Bitter on the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit too prickly and there is a slight alcohol burn. Very good. Need a side by side with DirtWolf.

Near-clear light golden pour with almost no head. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Flavor follow the nose and is great up to the rather biting dry finish. Not digging the lingering bitter rind of aftertaste, and there are smoother juicier dipas that finish much cleaner.
