Pours a light copper color with a soapy white head with plenty of lace. Aroma of bready malts and faint toffee. Little hop bitterness or alcohol flavor, just a very clean German malt character. Medium bodied and well carbonated, full flavored and rich. Overall, a nice clean American made German bock perfect for enjoying the fall season.

A: Clear amber with mild carbonation and a 2 inch head that sizzles down quickly.

S: Very traditional lager-like, both malt and hops present, slightly fruity if you look hard enough.

T: Leads with a hoppy taste, with a strong roasted bread malt taste afterwards.

M: Smooth on the front, high carbonation on the back that tingles on the tongue for a while.

O: Both the scent and taste are hoppier than I'd expect from a bock. Not impressed.

I had this on tap at Barcade in Philadelphia, served chilled in a pint.

The color is medium amber with light haze and thick white cream with good retention and fine bead. The smell is malty with a nutty mildly sweet aroma and mild alcohol presence with a fruity ester. The texture is balanced with malt and moderate carbonation with mild spice and subtle dry toasted and clean dry medium bodied finish has a spiced hop element.

The flavor is great as the bock has the appropriate toasted maltiness you expect with woody hops and a very mild caramel accent with hint of nuttiness and gentle yeast flavor adding to the complexity with a traditional lager finish. Overall a wonderful beer, a very well crafted bock that is enjoyable to drink.
