Notes: A bold and bright step outside the norm, the flavors of a unique, old world German brewing process excite your senses with the sharp and sweet burst of fresh cherries. Effervescent and sublime, this session ale has an enticing cherry-fruit character. European tradition and American ingenuity come together in the truest sense as you Taste Victory in Kirsch Gose.

Pours a ruby to light red with white foam. Aroma of fresh sour cherries with flavors of tartness, intense rounded cherry character, and a refreshing salty character. Crisp carbonation and light body are both combined into a thirst quencher.

A: hazy; the color of pink grapefruit; 1 finger finely pored pale pink head that receded to a wispy cap with a thick collar; nice web of lace;

S: a balance between funk, cherry, and salt;

T: mildly tart cherry from start to finish; salt comes through at the end; coriander is noticeable in the aftertaste;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: I would have liked a bit more tartness and carbonation; I was very happy that this didn't taste like cough syrup;

355 ml bottle, from Bris ølutsalg, Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Peach to pink colour, small white head. Aroma of lactic acid and sour cherries, hints of sea water. The flavour has distinct lactic acid and sour cherries, but is not too extreme. Hints of salt and coriander seeds. Fairly refreshing.

A couple of 12 oz. cans were just waiting to be unleashed and reviewed. They were poured individually into a clear Imperial pint glass mug. The gose is light copper in color with very little head and lacing. Light also describes the aroma, which has tart notes with a hint of berry. Kirsch Gose has a very pleasant sour cherry flavor softened by some malt. There are times a beer such as this can be very refreshing. The cherry prevents it from becoming bitter or overly sour. The low ABV helps its drinkable. If anything, it may not be tart enough. P.S. A subsequent pour into a clear pint glass left a very nice white head a significant glass lacing. The numbers on the review will reflect that.

A nice beer for the day, once again hitting nearly 75 at the end of October. Cherries are one of my favorite fruits, I'm pretty sure I'll thoroughly enjoy this

Pours a cloudy pinkish orange with 2 fingers of white head that quickly fades to a cap and leaves plenty of lacing behind

The nose is pretty straightforward here, the cherries are tart, cracker, just the right amount of coriander, sea salt, and a touch of lemon juice. The coriander often comes out too much in the style, making it a touch too spicy, but this seems balanced

As expected, this is quite balanced. Up front the cherries toe the line between sweet and tart with a light coriander spice to back it up. The swallow brings some general lemon tartness and crisp bready malt with a touch of wheat to soften things up

A nice light body combines with light prickly carbonation to create a very refreshing beer. Finishes just a touch sticky and tart

This was a pretty solid gose. Downright crushable, I look forward to keeping this around during the warmer months

"Enjoy by 8/29/16"; drank 6/1/16 @ the Yarchives.

Semi-opaque ruby red appearance; champagne bubbles throughout.

A rough pour yielded a small white head; strong lace.

Honeyed wheat & sweet cherry notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Honeyed wheat & candle wax flavors up front; tart cherry notes on the finish.

The sweet & sour aspects clash a bit, but this was at least flavor-forward. Good.

(12 oz bottle, enjoy by 14 Jul 2018... decanted into a fat tulip)

L: crystal-clear, pinkish tawny liquid; tall crest of bubbly white foam on the pour, slowly collapsing into a bubbly collar... leaves a good bit of webby lacing

S: coriander, lemon and grapefruit zest, soft note of cherry... delicate malts, vague pine note?... cherry ginger ale overtone

T: flavorful, fruity pop up front, with a spicy tart hum remaining on the tip of the tongue, lightly saline aftertaste... cherry stone builds on the palate, coriander hangs in the back a little... moreish

F: light bodied, cut and dry, with a soft effervescence... front of the tongue gets some tiny acidic pins & needles, poking long after each sip, but fading in intensity along the way

O: not something I would normally gravitate towards, but I found a lone bottle in a fridge at the store, figured why not?... despite the beer being past it's prime, it's still damn tasty

Reviewed from long-standing notes. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into an El Catador teku glass.

A: Pinkish red, just barely hazy – this is almost completely clear. Forms a big two-finger very light pink head that fades after a few minutes. A good amount of active carbonation.

S: Not huge here. Light lactic tart, mild feety funk, and sour cherries. Some fruity yeast esters – apple and pears mostly. Some light cracker malts, and there’s some salinity as well.

T: Tart cherries and less cherry candy. Light lactic tart and citric acid. Fruity as well – lemons and apples again. Some very pale cracker malts in the background. The cherry flavor dissolves quickly into those other fruits, with more lactic tart swelling up as well as some savoriness. Then this finishes with lingering dry tart and fruitiness.

M: Light body. Carbonation just a little less than average. Fairly low alcohol but as it's a little noticeable it's a bit high for style.

O: Not bad, but ultimately forgettable. The cherry flavors aren’t overly artificial, but there’s a candied aspect that diminishes the fresh and juicy impression. The mild funk on the nose was essentially completely lacking on the palate as well. It's not particularly tart, not particularly salty. It’s like they tried to stay middle of the road and just missed out on emphasizing any one of those that probably would have had me liking this more.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. complicated code toward the bottom of the bottle. a clear bottled on date would be more helpful.

hazy dull reddish orange body. small white head dissipating to a thick ring and covering, leaving decent lacing.

slightly musty cherry aroma.

salty, fruity, faintly spice taste. the combination is nicely balanced and quite pleasant. even a little floral.

mouth is between medium and full. finish is slightly dry and salty. there is also a very faint curdled taste which fortunately doesn't last long.

overall, a pretty pleasing and refreshing. well balanced. will have to pick up some for the hotter summer months. it should really hit the spot then.

Poured into a small chalice: color slightly hazy ruby, head is made up of fine bubbles and presents about 1/2 inch thick and then dissipates to a top with some lacing.

Smell is lightly tart, then some wheat and light funk.

Taste follows, with tart cherry flavor, some light wheat, and low level saltiness.

Mouthfeel is crisp, moderately carbonated, just enough fullness to notice the salty component.

Overall a great spin on the gose style with the added sour cherry.

T: Cherry, a touch of dryness, some pair, a little salt & coriander. More saltyness & cherry as this warms, Finishes salty with tart cherry, plus a hint of lime

MF: Light/medium body, fairly firm carbonation

Very drinkable, flavorful & approachable take on the style. This would be a stable in the Summer if availible

Now here we have a good cherry bomb of a gose. Bottle was undated. Not much of a head, which is fine, and dissipate to a strange almost yeast like covering of white. But the color of the head before it goes is off white pink. Beer is also distinctly pinkish. And it tastes tart like it should. Not something you'd drink in winter, but a great refreshing summer tart one.

This was poured into a stange, thinking it is a true gose. The appearance was a nice looking hazy pink color with a tight little white foamy head that concaved to leave a sticky glaze of lacing wrapping all around the glass. The smell had a sweet to tart to bitter cherry blend encompassing a light lemon citrus blend. The taste takes the previously mentioned flavors to blend nicely into a wheat base and to lead to a sweet cherry to salty aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a very good sessionability. I could probably pound this all day. The saltiness strolls across my tongue stealthily and brings in the light wheat to dry things out a bit. Overall, I say this was a pretty good gose, everything seems to fit for the style and I dig the cherry twist. Authentic cherry flavor fulfills and rounds it all out nicely.

Pours out a pink hue that looks dark pink, almost red in the glass. Topped by a creamy light pink head that boasts uncharacterstically long retention for a gose, and thus provides superb rings of lacing.
The nose offers sweet cherries with a soft lactic tartness. The cherries smelled smoked and tangy and almost artificial, but not chemical-like or astringent. There's a nice salinity punctuating the bright cherry tartness.
On the palate, the cherries steal the show. Up front, they're nice and tart; sour cherries, cherry skin, with some lactic acid. Tastes like cherry yogurt. You get a tiny bit of this ghost-like cracker malt presence in the middle, along with a hint of coriander and earthiness. Then you get the touch of salinity, which makes the mouth water and excites the taste buds for the finish, which actually gets sweeter. It's a sweet cherry note that borders on strawberry and raspberry, leaning toward strawberry and cherry jam. Then it finishes lightly tart again, lightly dry, and crisp and clean with some straw.
The mouthfeel is the lighter side of medium, but with a solid carbonation that pushes it along quickly and feels almost creamy.

This might be the best cherry gose I've had thus far. It's not the sour or the most sweet cherry beer in the world, but the complexity of cherry flavor plus sheer drinkability is incredible.

Pinkish orange in color with good clarity. Poured with a short, creamy, light pink foam with good retention. Medium light wheat malt aroma with faint cherry notes. No hop aromas. Medium bodied with tangy, effervescent carbonation a creamy smoothness through the middle. Wheat malt flavors up front quickly followed by medium high tart cherry with peppery notes beneath. No hop flavors or aromas. Tartness peaks through the middle and slowly fades to the end. Finished with a tart cherry flavor followed by salty dryness. Crisp and refreshing. Very drinkable.
