MALTS: Pilsner
Fruity notes from imported Belgian yeast swirl through a precise souring. Pucker up to a bite of citrus laden tang ending with a delectable experience.

There's a reason Golden Monkey is out of stock at your store, but this is still available. It doesn't taste bad, but it feels artificial. Like they added sour to an already fine tripel base. Sure the sour masks the ABV, but the strong ale character mutes the sour's nuance. That's why sours are low ABV.
Yet, this is the only thing with sour taste that is available and a easy buzz. There is something to be said for that. It just feels like the inner Belgian fan in me is satsfied, but the inner sour fan is a tad disappointed.

Definitely not a bad beer, especially if you like Sours. Looks great, smells fine, great taste. Can't drink but 1 or 2, which is fine but really can't tell how it feels later quality wise. Good beer for the sale price which seems to be offered regularly.

This is a clear, pale golden-colored beer with a small white head that vanishes quickly. The nose is mild-verging-on-nonexistent, evincing a faint fruitiness. Pilsener malt is evident on the palate, however I find the beer weirdly winelike, The 9.5% ABV is utterly undetectable in the nose and taste -- this is what I find most remarkable here. This is much subtler than I expected it to be.
I taste no evidence of brettanomyces -- and that, to my mind, is a bad thing.
This is an interesting beer, but I won't be rushing out for more.

Pours a nice bright gold with plenty of head as per the usual with belgian or belgian style beers. Smells funky and musty with a little waft of fruit. Tastes fairly bitter at first and gets smoother as it warms up or I acclimate myself to it, either one. Some green apples, a little phenolic but not too much and some grassy notes with a little herbal hop. Low on the “vinegar” factor so that’s a plus and pretty strong @9.5 %. Sours are not really my thing but this was part of the Victory 15 pack and was pleasantly surprised and look forward to drinking the last one.
