Served in a concave curved pint glass from the bottle.

Appearance: Semi cloudy yellow body with medium bubbles and a white head rising roughly just about one finger's length from the body.

Smell: white wine scent with hint of green grapes and warm sugar.

Taste: Complex sweet and touch hoppy feel consisting of robust hops from which add a raw pine feel. It is a touch sweet, but definitely offset with its deep smooth bitterness.

Mouth: Sticky brew with a honey like finish, medium carbonation and full bodied.

Overall: Perfect brew and might be one to call it the last for the night. Good brew, and one I would buy again and again....salud!

DATE: April 26, 2018... OCCASION: the 2018 draft is upon us, and Cleveland drafts first and fourth--this calls for a special Victory... pours an attractive golden, crystal-clear body rife with a herd of bubbles creating a reasonable quarter-finger off-white head... the aroma sparks sherry oak, flowery hops, pepper, ginger, tea, vanilla and phenol that broaches vodka... a packed profile... sips at a biting, bitter sharpness that states its 13% with ferocity... as intense as the initial buzz occurs, the secondary mouthfeel is sheepish, soft and welcoming... its finish is respectful, fizzy and dry... as the glass drains, a smoother sherry takes over, sippable and worth holding on the tongue... unbelievably drinkable, as the sip is rewarding and wine-like... the lightness of this profile is rich in sherry, oak, dry tannins, white wine, and flowery--lilac, earthiness, oat, vanilla, and ginger all mesh to create a formidable sweetness... by its end, a buzzing strength courses through it at half-bottle... perhaps not worth its price tag, but like the Browns draft, rewarding (they chose Mayfield and Ward)...

From a bottle of indeterminate age, it pours a sparkling clear golden color with a modest head, that eventually diminishes to a lusty ring and a large continent in the middle. Grass, malt and alcohol in the nose. The mouth gets a nicely flavored, somewhat boozy malt beverage. Dangerously easy to drink, however.

A: This poured a clear gold with rocky white head.
S: It smelled like lemon zest and grassy hops, with some coriander and clove and pithy citrus.
T: It tasted like lemon zest and pithy citrus, with some grassy hops and apricot and clove. It had a clean and bittersweet aftertaste with some alcohol warming.
M: It was thick with moderate carbonation. Nice full body.
D: This was a nice brew with complex scent and taste. Not the most delicious combination of flavors, but fun to try. The body was solid, but the finish was hot, so it was better to sip. Not for aging. Ended up more like a strong saison than a Belgian imperial IPA like I expected. Interesting but not great.

A very tasty beer - kind of a hybrid between a Tripel and a Quad. Pours a slightly hazy gold color with kind of an orangy cast. Small, bubbly white head shows average retention for a beer in general, but quite long for a 13% abv beer. A light covering of the top of my goblet remains for quite some time. Aroma is fruity (but has aspects of both the light fruit found in Tripels and dark fruit from Quads). Candi sugar is quite prominent as well. Taste is very good. A malty beer with strong fruit presence and some candi sugar. The sweetness is balanced (possibly by the hops - although they are probably faded by the year I have hung on to this beer). There is a fairly strong alcohol presence, more than warmness - less than a harsh alcohol "burn". Mouthfeel is rich and smooth with a significant alcohol presence. I would like to try one of these "fresh" to see how the hops blend in.

Not really a Quad, but more of a high gravity hybrid
