Aug 2017...on tap, pours clear gold, light darkness colors. Some white foam. Light malty nose, very much a pils. Crisp pilsy taste, very familiar, good hop backed bitter. Earthy taste. Nice.

part of a 5oz flight at good ta go Chambersburg, PA on Saturday night.

pale yellow body, no head, ergo no lacing.

some malts on the nose.

I wasn't expecting much after the first two ratings, but this doesn't taste bad at all, and I admit I'm not much of a lager/pilsner fan. Clean a strong malty flavor.

Mouth is around medium, slightly dry on the finish.

Overall, a decent enough beer.

decent pils here, but they call it a keller pils on the menu. i was under the impression that the keller part indicated that it was an unfiltered example of the style, but this beer is almost perfectly clear on the pour, and looks super light in general, even for the style, more pale straw color than yellow or golden, and quite minimalist. aroma and flavor are great, you get just enough of the lager yeast on top of the light crackery imported pilsener malt, and just a dash of spicy earthy hops to finish, very understated overall, but very well made. i think pils is a funny style, in that the very best ones almost all taste the same, its brewed to a standard, so the better it is, the closer they seem to be to uniform, something i have not observed in other styles to this degree, so while this is very good, its also kind of samey, which is more the fault of the style than the recipe. i was hoping for a little more grain and yeast character given the keller in the name, but hard to complain about a good clean pils like this one.

Clean straw yello color, minimal head. Very clean and straightforward beer, very nice German malt presence, flavors of wheat bread and flower hops. Great body in the classic style.

If you don't like pilsners, don't bother drinking this even if the only reason you're tasting it is to be able to add another beer to the list of beers you've tried. Or if you think you'll suddenly like pilsners.

Had on tap at The Answer in Richmond, Va. A clear, light yellow. Smells very mild of bready malts, flowers, and spice. Tastes, as others have noted, very clean, like a good German pilsner, though with subtle taste of what I can only describe as oats? Or something rather oaty. Feels light and drinkable and actually rather refreshing. Overall I like it. Solid.
