DATE: 28 August 2016... OCCASION: a whirlwind week ends with the new school year starting tomorrow--time to toast a great summer!... GLASSWARE: Schneider Weisen Edel-Weisse pokal... thick, frothy white head chunks into craters and mountains... methodical, slow-streaming bubble strings stalk the slightly obscuring, brass body... the head diminishes slightly, leaving thick, clumpy clouds... fragrant melon and bubblegum team with toasted malts, cracker, and rum to elicit a shiver of flavor potential--an anniversary celebrator indeed! sweetness can be detected as well... a full-bodied, heavy weight dropping into the throat... a bubbly start, a dry finish, and a slightly tart passage through... thick and frothy, worthy of being sipped and savored... retains its pilsner sweetness with the noble hops creating a softened melon, orange citrus aspect... some onion and vegetable hints--particularly honey--with phenol alcohol also issuing vapors... warming but not oppressive or abrasive... with the citric power and toasted malts, a balanced attack, that at 8.0% ABV is a meal within itself... thanks to Brad for bringing this to my fortieth celebratory dinner with his family... between this and the Breury's saison, we were feeling quite good... tonight, as a stand-alone, this beer rewards with a strong profile and a full mouthfeel... another victory for Victory!

Happy Belated Anniversary! Pick this up at the local shop that has a good stock of discontinued beers...lucky me, the drink by date on this one was only 60 days passed...
A - Poured into a 12 oz. Flute. Deep golden like a Kansas Wheatfield
S - Like a Pilsner should smell, malts and hops
T - Oh my, more please
M - Outstanding mouthfeel, heavy coating likely from the malts...chewy
O - Great! Few beers get a perfect score from me, this one did! Well Done.

Found this one at the back of the beer fridge, obviously forgotten with an Enjoy By: 05 FEB 2017, served in a pilsner glass.
L: Pours bright golden with 2 fingers of medium density white head with moderate retention and left scattered lacing.
S: Floral forward with some grassy undertones.
T: Follows the nose well, heavier breadiness than on the nose. Finishes with a hint of bitterness and bit of pepper, lingers a bit.
F: Honestly my first imperial pilsner, but it felt a bit thin for the ABV. Some tingling on the tongue, likely from the ABV, just a touch of acidity, and carbonation on the higher side.
O: Not sure I'd have found this any more favorably if I'd drank it sooner. Glad I had it, wish I'd shared it, wouldn't repeat.

Frothy bar-poured head. Leaves a solid ring of lace. The color is orange - dirty gold with a definitive chill haze.
Freshly malted pale barley smell. The noble hop aroma is floral and subtle.
Lightly sweet with a rich mouthfeel. Plenty of carbonation. The hop is stronger than the smell suggests but still appropriate for the style. More bitter than sweet in the long-lasting aftertaste.

Picked up a 750ml bottle in late July fro Craft Beer Hop Stop for $9.99. Best by 02/05/2017.
Beer poured golden with a nice white head that has some nice hang time.
Nose is grainy and grassy.
Taste is grassy with a touch of lemon over a huge malt base. Finish is peppery with a touch of noble hop bitterness.
Feel is medium bodied and fairly crisp for the size of the beer.
Overall a tasty well made impy pils. The feel is much lighter than most i have had in the past. Worthy of a shot!

2016 release. Enjoy by feb. 5, 2017. DFH Tulip.
A: pours a deep gold with2 inches frothy white head that recedes to a thick, 1/8 inch head that lasts. Ample flowing bubbles, and some floaties? Says it's not bottle conditioned.
S: Pilsner, plus. Pilsner malt, floral noble hops, just a touch of alcohol. Some lemon or lemon peel, too. Little sulfur. Honey sweetness builds as it warms. Reviewing this with a slight cold, but I expected more wow from the hops.
T: initial floral noble hop bite on the arrival, turning to a rich, bready middle, then a slightly sweet, slightly peppery an medicinal hoppy ending. Alcohol is noticeable, indeed prominent, at the end.
M: heavier side of medium bodied. Moderate carbonation with large bubbles. Quite clean, but for the lingering hoppiness. Feels like a yellow DIPA.
O: I expected this to be like malt liquor, and it's not. It's more like Pilsner meets DIPA in the most beautiful way. Not a refreshing summer beer; probably one that would do you well in the depths of winter, January or February. The essence of a good Pilsner is a crisp and refreshing beer; I don't think that's possible at 8.0%. I don't know that I'd buy this again, but I would be interested in trying the style again.

Poured rather aggressively into a snifter. Beautiful large cloudy head. Calm hazy and golden body.
Smells of honey, sweet malt and some characteristic floral elements.
Taste of sweet desert bread, and the floral notes really kick in. The burn from the alcohol is quite noticeable in your throat, but it is initially well-hidden. Mouthfeel is light, dry and medium-to-low carbonation,
This smells and looks great, and tastes just fine I suppose.
