Found this one on tap at the local watering hole. Nice deep rich black color, loads of head and nice lingering lacing. Smells faintly of coffee and chocolate. Tastes of bitter dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, malt, and very mild hoppy bitterness almost like orange zest at the end. Very nice creamy mouthfeel with very little carbonation. Mild bitter aftertaste which brought down this beer’s score a little.

The nitro version has more of a berry flavor than the regular version. I swear I smell raspberries. The creaminess of the nitro version also softens up the bitterness of the recipe I'm used to. This has pros and cons. As I'm drinking a 12 ounce pour and on the second half, I'm starting to taste the booze. You could have told me it was a sessionable stout for the first six ounces. Now it seems to be all the double imperial it is advertised to be. Still a fantastic beer, even if I slightly favor the original recipe.
