On tap at Victory Brewing Company in Kennett Square, PA.

This one pours a light golden yellow, with orange tints, a tight white head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like bready malt, a nice level of grassy hops, and some light lemon.

This is a no frills and great hop accented lager. The hop character is great, lemon and grassiness, but I wish the malt character was a little deeper.

This is light bodied, very crisp, with a good level of carbonation.

One of the better American made pilsners for sure, but lacks the malt richness of the best German examples.

Served in 10 oz chalice glass

Appearance – Served a hazy yellow color with a large white head that faded fast. Upon fading a little lacing was left on the glass.

Smell – The smell is more citrus hop with a nice bit of wheaty bready aroma mixed with a pepper spicy aroma and an ever so lighter tropical fruit aroma.

Taste – The taste is a bit of sweeter wheat malt up front. The hop flavor really then starts to come into play. Very lemony citrus in nature with a bit of pine. There is a nice peppery flavor that comes more toward the end of the taste. The mix of the peppery lemon and wheat go on to take the brew to its taste finish and leave a rather crisp flavor on the tongue as an aftertaste.

Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel is on the medium to lighter side with a good level of carbonation. It is rather good for the style, but nothing of extraordinary greatness.

Overall – This was a refreshing brew that was very easy to drink. Good for a nice sunny warm day while sitting and lounging around outside.

A - Clean, clear straw with a crisp head that sticks around for little while but quickly dissipates with little lace. Tight bubbles sparkle inside

S - Green apple, yeast, wild grape, lemongrass, kombucha, jasmine, chewable vitamins, aspirin, crystal malts, grass, mead, honey

T - Crisp hop with grassy, herbal tones, starfruit, green apple, and hints of that gives way to a subtle honeysuckle flower and crisp malt that is then bombarded by a palate-covering bitterness. The bitterness sticks around and becomes slightly astringent and aspirin-like with an almost grapefruit-like quality, followed by a subtle metallic malt with an essence of lime leaf and clean, fresh spring water.

M- Excellent carbonation, a very clean mouthfeel, and a wonderfully tannic bitter that continues to expose itself well after the flavor profile dissapates.

O - A stellar pils! Amazingly bitter, but still with enough malt and floral fruit profile to be intriguing.

Very bitter pale beer.

Pale amber in the pint glass. Head in nice enough and long lasting. Dull mouth feel. Modest carbonation on the tongue. Salty tang. Some biscuity flavors and grain. Bitter hops are the main story. Hops sink into long bitter aftertaste. Extremely thin for the weight of the bitterness, like a house of cards. Must be my least favorite of the several Victory brews I've tasted.

Draft at Rembrandt's.

Pours a dark chestnut brown color with golden orange edges and a two finger frothy, pillowy white head that has excellent retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap. The glass is left coated with chunks and rings of soapy lace. I was surprised that this was a pilsner before drinking it and was reassured several times by the bartender that this was the right beer.

Earthy aroma with subtle floral hops, grass and straw as well as a prominent malt presence that wasn't expected. Pilsner malt with hints of subtle biscuit, tofee and caramel in the nose.

Medium bodied with more of a malt presence than expected for the style. Earthy and crisp with floral hop bitterness and a nice dry character that lingers throughout into a sweet yet dry finish. Hints of grass and straw with some faint light fruit, notably apple and pear. Again, the malt backbone is strong with hints of nut, toast and caramel. The ABV is well masked without a trace of heat making this unique beer pretty quaffable.
