Aug 2017, tap...pours dirty gold, little foam. Fruity peach nose. Pepper fronted flavor, with a strong peach background. Almost like a peach soda. Some background bitters. Good if peach is your thing, bad if not.

I am delving into New Victorkugel's Beer Sunday (Week 665) with great gusto, continuing with this beer!
From the bottle: "Bursting with fresh peach and spice aromas, this Belgian-style Blonde Ale features stone fruit notes with a touch of sweetness and a refreshingly dry finish. Brewmasters' Approval: [undersigned] Bill [&] Ron".
Having Pop!ped the cap, I began a slow, gentle pour into the awaiting glass. Upon completion, I employed an in-glass swirl to stir up both trouble & a finger of foamy, eggshell-white head with modest retention. Color was solidly Amber (SRM = >7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was redolent with peaches but cut with a black peppery spiciness. Wow! I loved taking Foods/HomeEc in high school & one of the first things that we learned was about home CANning. I got really good at it & with my grandmothers, I CANned tomatoes, corn, green beans & carrots, but my favorite was jam. Raspberries were prevalent, but fresh fruit from the grocer's was also fair game. I still love the sticky sweetness of peaches & this smell was so evocative of them that I could barely restrain myself from drinking it down in one big gulp. Mouthfeel was medium, but very sticky, like peach juice in my mouth. Mmm. The taste was peachy, but with a pepperiness that seemed kind of unnecessary, kind of like gilding the lily. I liked the peach flavor and it went well with the biscuity maltiness, but the coriander just seemed out of place in the admixture. It made me wish that they would go up to the blackboard & erase "with coriander". It would have been a great peach non-lambic without the spice. Finish was semi-dry, tending toward semi-sweet but for the addition of the coriander. Not all things are great together. This recipe needs to be revisited & revamped, IMHO.

Pours a clear, with a hint of chill haze, deep gold/pale amber, producing slightly more than a finger of foamy, bone white, short-lived head that leaves no surface cap & only a few wisps & motes of pasty lace above a small collar ring. Aroma is Belgian yeast fruity esters of pear, peach & maybe a hint of candy apple balanced against a sour note, with prominent coriander & lesser hints of pale malt, earth, clove/spice & herbal/floral hops. Taste is a let down after the nose: perfumy, robustly sweet, being peach/white fruit & coriander heavy to the point of being off-putting; biscuit malt, Belgian earthiness, spice & pepper with a drying aftertaste that yields a slightly fruity, mildly bitter peppery aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, moderately carbonated, a little juicy up front it rapidly becomes oily & slick, drying in the slightly astringent aftertaste. By far the fruitiest Belgian Pale Ale I've had to date. Overall it's so different as to be unique but not necessarily in a good way. So fruity & perfumy it becomes cloying early in the pour. Not something I would purchase again or be likely to recommend.

Just slightly hazy medium golden look with a decent sized almost white head from tap. Slight coriander scent along with the normal wit type Belgian scents. This beer comes off as really sweet with lots of ripe peach flavors. Medium in carbonation. I really don't like the way the peach melds with the rest of the flavors. Not great.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 11/9/2017. Pours fairly hazy deep golden/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/lightly tart peaches, fruit skin, orange, pear, apricot, red apple, melon, coriander, clove, white pepper, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey/toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, peaches, coriander, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart peaches, fruit skin, orange, pear, apricot, red apple, melon, coriander, clove, white pepper, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey/toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness, yeast spiciness, and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy peaches, fruit skin, orange, pear, apricot, red apple, melon, coriander, clove, white pepper, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, peaches, coriander, and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tart/spiciness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is a delicious Belgian pale ale! All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, peaches, coriander, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/spicy/tart/tangy finish. Perfectly balanced biscuity malts, fruit, spice, and yeast. Never slick or syrupy on fruit character. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

part of a flight at The Brick House in Orwigsburg PA last monday.
Looks decent enough, hazy pale amber body, nice white head with okay lacing
aroma manages to be sweet and grassy.
Taste is very sweet, with a touch of salt. Couldn't find any other spices, peaches present, but not foremost.
Mouth is around medium, finish is sweet and slightly tart.
Overall, the mixture here just didn't work too well for my palate. A bit too sweet
