Meager head, normal pour barely gets enough to temporarily cover the surface, straightforward white as it lasts, wispy lacing which as spotted as it is, sticks well. Light haze to the golden liquid, dense weave of bubbles, slowly rise upwards. Wonderful lift to the nose, tangerine to lemon citrus, honey, dank and wet leafy matter, pine and rose petals, coal tar, substantial amount of peach, apricot, mango fruit scents. Medium-bodied, even with a credible level of dankness, pine and earthiness it has good flow and never bogs down as it crosses the palate. Orange marmalade, pine, rose petals and tar, has elements which both lift and anchor. Carbonation is steady but not necessarily refreshing. Here the peach, mango, pineapple fruit on the dull side. Stays nicely wet and the strong herbaceousness does not dry it out. Allowing for the flow, there is a good deal of sticky residue left on the tongue as it finishes. Strikes one as monochromatic and you wish it reach into the higher register.

American IIPA poured from a bottle into a MadTree tulip. The pour is dark gold, very hazy, and sports a perfectly-formed 2 finger crown of fine white foam with excellent retention. On the nose I get grapefruit juice, lemon zest, and orange jolly rancher candies.

Medium-light body with a somewhat delicate feel and a pleasant hoppy flavor. Light graininess up front, then a well-balanced hop bill brings on tropical fruit that matches the nose. Finishes dry with some lemon lingering behind.

Always up for a new IIPA from Victory. This one reminds me a lot of Hop Ranch. It has that light body and good hop profile that's not over-done. Hard to find better IIPAs than this.

Golden yellow in color with a hazy, unfiltered appearance. Poured with a moderate, creamy, white foam with very good retnetion. Medium aromas of juicy citrus, pineapple and earthy pine with sweet malt beneath. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Creamy smooth feel through the middle with a pleasant boozy warm feel to the finish. Medium high herbal, spicy flavors with pine and citrus fruit notes beneath. Medium light malt bacbone throighout. Medium high spicy hop bitterness through the middle followed by earthy, herbal hop flavors to the end. Finished semi-dryly with herbal hop notes and lingering pine hop bitterness. Great hop character with just enough maltiness to provide balance. Despite the hop strength and higher abv this was very drinkable.

Picked up a 6-pack today ($14.00) at The Beer Store Nashua... diving into a couple of those bottles while watching some college football Bowl games...

It's a hazy, medium golden color, with a wispy-thin white head. Both carbo and lacing are on the light side. Aroma has lots of pithy, piney citrus, with some nice apricot/tangerine sweetness. Has a near-medium body, but with a bit of roughage and prickle while going down.

Flavor has a smidge of crackery, bready malt, but it is very much on the light side. What isn't on the light side is hoppy bitterness. Has a mix of mango, tangerine, apricot and grapefruit, all laying waste to my taste buds. It's also quite rindy, resiny and piney, with loads of lupulins. I personally would like a bit more sweetness to balance things, but I am not really complaining. Prosit!

DATE: February 24, 2018... OCCASION: well-fed after enjoying Blue and Gold dinner #4...GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... excited about this one, as I hadn't heard of its release--and then, bam, it's available for grunts at the local Liquor Factory... pours from said grunt create a lightly effervescent, light, murky yellow body... it's head froths and laces with a confident ring that belies its hefty ABV... solid though not spectacular... intense mango, pineapple and papaya, tinged with apple and tart citrus... pretty uniform in its power and profile, though the caramel does support ... the first sip is blissfully bitter, with an IBU count that probably sits in the 80s (actually 70, upon fact-checking)... hits the teeth hard, acquiesces through the mouth, and remains a friendly hop presence at the throat, providing an experience worthy of remembering... citric explosion frames the flavor, with mango and papaya blazing its trail... the hop-forward taste allows for some caramel and bread malts... a fantastic experience of robust fruitiness, with the power of Victory again commanding attention... a winner, and an enjoyable beer among its style...

The beer pours out a slightly hazy dark golden color, with 1 finger of white head------------------ the aromas are of citrus, stone fruit, pine, tropical fruit, floral/grass, tea and grapefruit-------------------- the flavors are of citrus, pine, tropical fruit, dank weed, Carmel malt, and grapefruit, the beer has a thick slick mouthfeel, with a tangy light bitter finish------------------- overall this beer was ok, it had some good things going on but still lacked a little pop and was a bit to malty for my preference--

Victory Brewing Co. "Mighty Things"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, "ENJOY BY: 28 APR 2018 0937 P"
$2.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Well it's lighter in color than I thought it would be, a hazy golden-amber beneath a finger-thick head of creamy off-white. The hops are definitely there in the nose: resinous, "dank", citrus rind, pine, wet underbrush, floral, grassy, grapefruit, orange. The flavor follows and I find it interesting that it's not that fruity, or more specifically it's not a "juice bomb", they've gone more the "dank" route. There is some citrus of course but it's kind of non-distinct other than what I'm finding as dull, or perhaps sweetened, grapefruit and a touch of orange. There's some tropical character to it though with papaya and mango, and maybe something else. It's really interesting in that it doesn't just give everything up, you've got to look for it. There's a fair bit of golden malt as well, somewhat honeyish and grainy. The bitterness is limited given its size which is nice because combined with it's medium body with a dextrinous edge and soft fine-bubbled carbonation and hop profile It's really easy to drink. I don't notice the alcohol anymore than I should either. And let's face it, at 8.3% you could drink two of these in a row unless you're a lightweight. Looking back the head hasn't held up nor is the lacing that good, which hurts it, but OK. So what have I missed? Nothing I think, time for the "overall"... I like it, I think it's unique, and certainly "dank". It's really well balanced and rounded, kind of internally compartmentalized into a tight ball except for the bright aroma, and it's easily drinkable (as far as an "Imperial IPA" can be), and highly drinkable. I don't have another bottle with me but if I did I would certainly drink it.
