Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a normal pint glass.

A: Pours a deep reddish brown with 2 fingers of tan head with good retention. Leaves some lacing behind.

S: More sweet malts up front than expected. Citrus and hops follow. Not as hoppy as expected for a "Black IPA", but still very nice and well balanced.

T: Very nice. As hoppy as expected for an IPA with nice roasted notes. More bitter than citrus due to hops and roastyness.

M: Good, a nice stickiness from the hops and lingering bitterness that is not off-putting.

D: Very good. Not my favorite black IPA, but an excellent example, one I will revisit frequently.

First had: on tap at Casey's, Newtown Square, PA

Assuming this is an alias for Yakima Twilight...

This beer pours a dark carameled amber color with a nice off-white head that laces well. Caramel aroma, fresh piney hops. Taste of toasted bread, honey and caramel, piney hops in generous quantities. Mellows out and gets a bit smoother as the temperature rises. Medium mouthfeel, and quite a good drink overall.
