Golden color, bright white densely foamy head that leaves spotty lace behind. Aroma is a delightful surprise. Sweet, funky, mellow, lemon fruity, spicy, black and red pepper, clean soap, phenolic, yeasty. Unexpected brisk light citrus pine around the edges. Just right. Taste is juicy, yeasty, fruity, floral, with numerous other interesting qualities. Flavors are cherry, wood, yeast flavors of fruit, bubble gum, soap, even a touch licorice, and lemon. Also tart, and crisply dry through the finish. Very nice surprise. Victory always seems to know exactly what they're doing.

Poured from a bomber into a nice tulip glass

A- Very hazy, straw - lemon color with a nice creamy white head, strong lacing that is layered around the glass.

S - Slight sourness, some lemon good background scent of hops, definite saison scent.

T - Nice and dry, very refreshing and crisp, get lemons, slight pucker factor good hops balance, very little sweetness which helps add to the quenching taste.

M - Medium bodied, medium carbonation, a little bit of mouth coating.

O - I like this, great price to quality ratio. As stated very refreshing. Is a nicely balanced saison brew.

A:
Pours a vaguely hazy straw color with a soft inch of creamy beige head and some flecks of sediment. Passable retention; sparse, stringy lacing.

S:
Smells saisony but with a subtle but strong herbal hoppiness and a little bretty sourness. Yeast, lemon rind, hay, and grass.

T:
Very dry with a rich, strong hop presence that was totally unexpected on my part. Dominant hops, dominant yeasty esters, white pepper.

M:
Dry and flat with prickly bubbles and a light-medium body. A lingering warm hop finish tops it off, but does not get in the way, so to speak.

O:
Not terrible, but definitely not my cup of tea.
This is a fairly well-executed saison in some senses, however I had a hard time getting past its in-your-facedness as I usually perceive saisons to be a soft and floral beer.
This one is certainly not bad looking, although a big fat airy head would not be unappreciated. The aromas are saison-esque as well, but are the first thing that is hoppy in the whole experience. The taste is what really lost it for me as you will find (or at least I did) something that is at once oppressively yeasty and oppressively hoppy. It isn't terrible by any stretch and, indeed, I started to like it more as I drank but it is not what I expect from a saison and so I was taken aback a little. Additionally the flavor is strong enough to almost make me cringe at times. Overall not bad, but not my favorite.
Probably won't have again; maybe worth trying if you are into American-styled Belgians.
