Pours a deep brown to black in color with an off white-ish head. In the aroma, light pilsner like, with a note of roast. In the taste, a small smoke presence, roasty, and a dryer malt. A small bite, but mainly smooth, with a lighter bodied mouthfeel, and a small dry and smokey lager like aftertaste. Lager with a smokey roast, I can dig it!

Schwarz Pils
Pours a clear dark brown. Off white head with good lacing. Smells of roasted malts and somewhat biscuity. Aptly named, this schwarzbier/pilsner hybrid has an airy lightness to the body. That being said, Schwarz Pils shares more in common with its darker hued brethren. Roasted malt gives off a coffee like flavor here with grassy hops balancing. On the light side of medium bodied and well carbonated. Overall, this was a nice beer to pair with a spicy kielbasa, sausage, roasted red pepper, cheese and egg sandwich.
