Appearance:
Golden color, clear. Lots of small bubbles rising up. Thick bright white head.

Aroma:
Spicy, citrusy, lemony, sweet pale malts.

Taste:
Burst of hops up front, but it's not overly bitter. Spicy, citrusy, resin. Malt background, pale malt, grainy, slight sugary. Finish is a little dry. Body is light-medium, very crisp, refreshing, well carbonated.

Overall:
It's very good.

Pours a straw yellow with decent head.

Nose is subdued with some straw and slight citrus.

Taste is right away refreshing. Quite refreshing. Easy to drink and light on the palate. This goes over well and gives a nice overall feel. Medium bodied and has a nice hop bite. Good amounts of citrus hops add to the compexity.

Very drinkable to say the least. Really pushes the American Blonde Ale category and bridges on the gap of APA in general. It is quite easy to put back a few of these. Summer love indeed.

Not a ton of flavor, just smooth. Which is what I like in a Summer beer. Not too bad.

Poured into a pilsner glass. The color is light straw; mostly clear. There is a large sticky white head.

The aroma has a nice dose of zesty European hops. I don't really get much malty notes in the aroma.

The taste is light in malt flavor with tons of grassy hops through and through. The finish is slightly vegetal, making for a seemingly dry finish.

This is light bodied, crisp and refreshing. This might not be a great "blonde" ale but I like it. It's got a nice refreshing hop flavor that is a nice addition to a light summer ale.

Summer Love opens with a malty nose that bears strong notes of wet wheat, sourdough bread, floury baguette, and hay. Added to these is a strong lemon-scented hop aroma, tinged with small touches of grapefruit rind and pine. Some apricot fruit esters lay just beneath the surface. As a whole, the nose is decent, and the aromas present in good strength, but I find the lemon-and-bread combination to be slightly overpowering and off-balance, somewhat like lemon-scented Pledge sprayed in the air of an active bakery. This is not to say the aromas are off-putting, but they don’t quite seem to mesh together here.

On the tongue, the beer opens with the same lemon-and-bread combination noted above, though the hops here are tinged with a more bitter shot of pine, grapefruit rind, and dandelion stem. The malts bring floury baguette and toast crust, with peppery touches and hints of apricot. There’s also a strong wheat stalk presence here, like hay straw held in the mouth, which lends the beer a bitter and dried-stem taste. The aftertaste is a bitter lemon rind and dandelion stem hop blast, with some breads remaining, and lingers for a long time. Mouthfeel is medium-light, and carbonation is medium.

Overall, while I can appreciate the lightness of this beer, since it is meant to be summer fare, and while the flavors are present in good strength, the beer as a whole doesn’t seem to mesh well. There’s simply too many lemon and dried hay flavors in here, and they get in the way of everything else. The extra-bitter aftertaste is also strange, drying out the mouth and leaving the drinker wanting another sip to refresh the palate. I’d imagine this beer would be great with a good barbecued burger or a hot dog, but as a stand-alone beverage it doesn’t quite balance out.

12 oz bottle. No codes to be found on bottle. Neat label art.

Pours crystal-clear, lite-yellow. A very slightly off-white head patches the glass well. Smell is mild biscuit and mineral. A decent amount of noble bitterness at the top, dissolving into that mild malt base, including the mineral. Aftertaste is grassy and bitter, even a tad sour. An easy drinker. Tastes like a light beer, but that's alright for summer..

Had on tap at the Beer Store in Southampton. This stuff looks like a pilsner, smells like cat piss, tastes like a mass produced BMC product. I had to power through this one. God is this gross. I'm not quite sure where this went wrong, or if this is just the epitome of a beer that's just "not my type'l but there's no love lost here.

Picked up a case at my local distributor. This beer pours a clear light gold with excellent carbonation and small white head. Smells of floral and faint citrus hops. A little lemon character is in there. Tastes crisp, light and refreshing with a kiss of bitterness at the end. Kind of has a Granny Smith apple taste to it (which I really dig). An awesome session beer. Takes a couple of beers to get accustomed to, but in no time I found myself flying through these. I think I just found my new go-to beer for the summer! Another great job by Victory.
