Pours medium golden with a billowy white head that fades quickly. Big, sweet ester aroma, tropical fruit, candied apples, banana - smells great. Outstanding tripel base, oak is prebelant - I can taste the white wine barrel, lots of esters, banana, a little tangy, some bubblegum. Thick and chewy, nice carbonation. Overall, I don't understand all the bad reviews. Possibly tainted beers? I really liked this beer. Effervescent, smooth, sweet, a little winey - I would drink again.

Poured from 750mL corked & caged bottle into my BeerAdvocate Teku.
Appearance: dark golden hue with a little bit of haze and a finger of dark ivory foam atop. I like it, although it feels a bit dark for the style.
Smell: a bit sweet with a good, rich malt character and some good pear aromas. Just a hint of white wine character seems to come through; this is great. Really well-balanced.
Taste: good malt flavor; it's relatively sweet, but there's some balance added by the wood aging. It's a little boozy as well, which isn't inappropriate to the style. I think the wine barrel character adds an interesting dimension here, although I don't know that it makes the beer, which was already good to begin with, objectively *better*.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good level of carbonation and a really nice creaminess. I dig it!
Overall: this is a good and interesting tripel. I am glad I finally got a chance to try it.

poured from a 1pt. 9.4 fl. oz. caged and corked brown bottle 7/13/2018 bottled
Victory White Monkey poured out a slightly cloudy orange-gold in color. A generous 2-finger off-white head was produced that left behind spotty lacing on the walls of my Duvel tulip glass. The nose is of; light fruit, apples, white grapes, and sweet from the candy sugar. The sweet taste follows the nose with the added flavors of; pears, lemons, honey, spice and a little peppery. The mouth feel is high-medium bodied and a little Chardonnay like finish.
White Monkey is very flavorful and drinkable. The Ale reminds me very much like Chardonnay wine...I'll have another thank you!

This is pretty much Golden Monkey with an added element of white wine and a hint of oak with a slightly sour finish. Fairly dry, not quite as sweet as Golden Monkey.

From the bottle, it pours a nice golden amber color with a nice head that eventually diminishes to a ring. In the nose, it is soft, perhaps a winey scent? In the mouth, it is slightly sour, malty and slightly spicy.

750ml bottle into a tulip. Bottled July 2017, so almost 18 months old. btw, dating was in silver on a silver/white label. Had to get the magnifying glass out. not helpful Victory.
Hazy amber orange body with a generous white head replenished by constant slow streams of small carbonation. very nice lacing.
A pleasant white wine aroma
Taste is sweet, white wine, and fruity in the beginning. toward the end of the mouthful, the bitterness and sour notes come forward. 2 beers for the price of one! Some light spice notes, peppery, and some apple as well. liking this one.
Mouth is getting close to full, finish a sweet & sour fruit mix.
Overall, a very nice and tasty beer to sip on as evening comes on.

Golden and see through look with a slight white head from tap. Not much of a nose but if I had to call it something it reminds me of white wine. Sickly sweet taste to this brew. That along with very mild carbonation did not work for me.

Golden hue, voluminous foamy cap. Aroma isn’t quite what you would expect - lots of vanilla bean, light orange creamsicle, some dry yeast and oak. The sweetness doesn’t quite work. Taste is also pretty sweet - you do get some white grape juice flavors but nothing thats says “wine”. Not a lot of barrel quality. More vanilla, honeycomb. Treacly phenols. Sorely needs some yeast or something to cut the sweetness, it is just tok much.

A: The beer is slightly hazy golden yellow in color with hues of amber and a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of apples are present in the nose along with strong notes of candi sugar.
T: Following the smell, the taste starts out with flavors of apples and transitions to flavors of Belgian yeast and candi sugar (without much associated sweetness) and notes of oak. No spices are detectable.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The oak barrel aging drastically changes the dynamics of his beer, imparting interesting aromas and flavors of apples to the smell and taste. You get a slight sense that this beer is strong from the hints of candi sugars but it hides any traces of alcohol remarkably well from the taste, much better than in Golden Monkey, particularly as the beer warms up.

Pours an effervescent amber with a pinky of eggshell colored head, Aove average head retention & lacing
S: White grapes, alittle oakyness & leafy hops once warm
T: White grapes, pears, oakyness & a touch if vaniila up front, a little kiss of booze as well. Some leafy hops come through as this warms, then white grapes, pears & a touch of oakyness. Finishes oaky with vanilla, pear & white grape
MF: Medium body, subtle carbonation, warming
Complex but pretty drinkable; I would've liked little more hoppyness. Closest thing to wine I've had in a while, as the label says; decadent, Very much reminds me of Chardonay, not my ex-stripper girlfriend, the wine :P

Popped the cork and it pours very hazy gold color with a thick foamy 2 finger off white head that faded average to quickly and left good foamy rings as it went down. A lot of active carbonation races up the brew, keeping it always bubbling.
Smells of sweet malt, toffee, white wine like chardonnay, oaky notes, light caramel, toasted grains, candied sugar and honey. I had a sample 5 oz glass at the Victory brewery on Sunday and bought this bottle because I really thought it smells great. It's simple yet complex with the white wine and barrel influences totally changing nose of the base Golden Monkey.
Tastes very similar to the aroma, with sweet malt, toffee, oaky notes, white wine like chardonnay, floral notes almost like flower petals, very light caramel, toasted grains, Belgian candied sugar, honey and those wax filled bottle shaped candy's that had some fruity liquid in it. Some minor booze peeks through, along with trailing green apple, yeast and some funky flavors. It ends with lemon zest, coriander and light peppery spices that fade dry and allow the white wine to linger. The fruity notes mix well with the barrel and malt aspects.
Mouthfeel is thin, light and spritz-y with mild carbonation, a smooth feel as it slides down and a slightly tart finish that's also a little bitter and funky. I liked this beer on tap and enjoyed the bomber. I'd definitely have this again, very good overall and in my view a very under-rated beer here on BA.

Poured from a cork and cage bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Clear light golden pour with 3 fingers of massive foamy white head. Great lacing.
S: Yeasty goodness... vanilla, oak, white wine... lemon.
T/F: Light grains and Belgian yeast... the 'Golden Monkey' base is present but this is so so much more. The flavor is exceptional... complex and exotic. Grape must and vanilla.. oak character and spice all mixed in with the traditional Belgian yeasts and light lemon citrus of the tripel. Smooth and warming. Boozy but keeps it nicely hidden. The finish is semi-sweet white wine. Flavors more pronounced as it comes up to temperature.
O: Sometimes a beer just 'grabs' you and that's what the White Monkey did to me. Golden Monkey is an above average tripel but nothing earth shattering. This... was just magnificent. I've had it twice and both times just blew me away. one to seek out.

Gold color. Nose is redolent of oaky Chardonnay with a slight bit of funk. Moderate head with lacing. The initial sweetness, reminiscent of apple cider, was wholly unexpected, given the nose. Still a bit of Belgian funk in there, and some golden raisins. Very little discernible hops. Surprisingly smooth, given the ABV; alcohol well masked. Medium body. Nice carbonation. Semisweet finish, with mild drying. Mellower than expected. —Reviewed 2017/08/27
