Dark brown pour, tan head didn't last but did leave some spotty lacing and an oily film.
Lotsa booze upfront, some vanilla, choclate and coffee. Taste is similar, nothing overpowering. Smooth, well balanced.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this beer: easily my favorite from Pollyanna. Maybe that's why, I drink them before thinking.
This year's release is "Aged in Whiskey Acres Pollyanna Select Bourbon and Rye Whiskey Barrels".
"Canned on Optimism 9/07/22" and poured into a snifter.
Dark brown body includes ruby highlights when backlit and briefly floats a 1/4" cap of cocoa powder colored foam with sans lacing.
Aromas of rye whiskey over bitter roast coffee bean, with wet oak following.
Flavors begin with roast coffee bean flowing into the barrel notes of oak, vanilla, molasses. An even booze warmth throughout the sip.
Mouthfeel is full, oily, just short of creamy, and finishes clean.
Overall it is very good, but more coffee than I prefer. I'm sure it will be very popular.

Gotta say, this is really good. No head really, thin-ish mouthfeel. Nice coffee stout smell. Hints of vanilla, coffee, and barrel. Really well balanced overall, nothing overpowers the flavors here. Maybe I’ve been drinking too much BCBS, but I wish this was a little thicker. Overall though, this is very pleasant and quite tasty. Would buy again for sure.

In an impressive line up of other stout, porters, and BA version of each. This was a big left field surprise. Great nose, full body, rich and great Bourbon BA stout. Very smooth and not over the top bourbon.
