Our much awarded English Mild is one of only two Iowa beers to have taken multiple gold medals at the GABF. Light and drinkable, but with a rich malt profile and a touch of caramel and chocolate. A true session beer.

Hmm very good malty side kind of beer which is what I have a preference for. Can't really tie this to a specific style other than it's an ale but delicious !

I was given this wonderful brew by a good friend of mine to try out on his recommendation. To begin, the look of the beer poured is that of coffee, dark in nature with little to no head. The brew does not have a strong smell, but does hit you with a slight sense of coffee close to the nose. The taste is as described, mild, coffee malt with a hint of caramel, not out of the ordinary. The mouthfeel of this particular beer is thin in my opinion, like drinking coffee. Overall, this beer can best be served as a beer to go along with a hearty meal of steak and potatoes. It tastes well enough to cleanse the pallet of food whilst keeping itself out of the realm of heavier tasting beers that may over power a meal.

A great find, accidently, at Centro in Des Moines IA. I recently I am enjoying dark beers more and more, however too many times the lower ABV variety lacks in flavor (and we can't always drink the heavy hitters. This Workman Comp is a supreme example of a light, very flavorful dark beer. Well balanced, just a little sweet, nice malt flavor, robust without being harsh. Good foam, and very pleasant at any time of day - had it before and during brunch the other day. A keeper on my list.

Poured from a 12-ounce can into a glass goblet. Sampled at cellar temperature. Body is a clear dark brown color, with ruby highlights and a tan head that settled after a few moments. This is light, but it delivers a ton of flavor. Toasted malts, caramel, toffee, and even a note of espresso bean on the nose and palate. Medium-light in body, pleasantly bitter, with a dry finish and a hint of dark toffee lingering on the palate. Great food beer. Very well done, and highly recommended.

12oz can. Poured an opaque, deep, dark brown color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of coffee, roasted malt and hints of chocolate. Sweet toffee taste with subtle coffee notes and toasted caramel.

Balanced and delicious! Malty profile with just enough hop bitterness for balance. The epitome of a drinkable beer that has a lot of flavor and nuance. If you're getting tired of all the over-hopped brews give this one a go. We need more choices like this. CHEERS!
