A little unbalanced - nose has a ton of cinnamon which bullies the other aromas, but then the taste is coffee-forward with any spice / vanilla getting backseated. Ends up still being solid just needs dialed-in a bit

Thanks to JLindros for sharing this growler.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black hue with a thin mocha head that fades to leave light lacing and thin wisps.

S - Aromas of bright fruity coffee, light roast, nice chocolate and cinnamon. Good fudge and oats.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, creamy, great coffee, really nice light roast. Relent cinnamon and earthy spices, good chocolate. The oats are incredibly subtle.

M - Mouthfeel is very lightly carbonated, not really creamy, very thin.

O - Overall this was a very delicious and aromatic. The oats were super lackluster.

Growler thanks to roguekielbasa (Reddit), filled 11/19

Filled right to the top, and pours a thick creamy mocha colored 1 finger head that fades semi slowly, some messy lacing, and jet black color

Nose loads of dark chocolate, cocoa, and oatmeal, a bit of fresh coffee, a little fudge and nougat candy, no roast or acrid, faint cinnamon and baking spices,

Taste brings thick fudgey chocolate, tons of cocoa nibs and creamy oatmeal, some fresh coffee with coffee grinds in teh middle, a bit of pepper flavor but not much heat, same with cinnamon some fresh cinnamon flavor but not much for heat, a touch of fluffy nougat, again no roast or acridness. Finishes a bit drier, touch of pepper and cinnamon heat.

Mouth is med bod fair creamy oatmeal, a bit light on the carbonation, touch of pepper heat

Overall another nice enjoyable beer, very well done, although I personally would have liked more pepper and heat, but that's me, and otherwise delicious.

Growler

Pours jet opaque black. Light tan film for a head.

Smells of coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla and biscuit.

Tastes of coffee, cinnamon, coffee, vanilla, lactose and toasted biscuit.

Medium to full body, creamy, with tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Excellent stout, super smooth, very flavorful. Definite must try.

This one pours a dark black, with a small head and lots of lacing.

This smells like a whole lot of coffee, with light cinnamon spice, vanilla, fudge, and roast.

This is pastry stout at its finest. There's a lot of delicious coffee, tons of roast and coffee, with spicy cinnamon and creamy vanilla. The base is great too, with a clean roast and tons of fudge.

Despite the lower ABV, this has a nice creamy and full feel to it, with a good level of carbonation.

BG can really do no wrong in my eyes.

750ml swingtop growler poured into a Brew Gentlemen pint glass:

Look: Pours an awesome jet black color with a nice mocha head! Lacing is present with great retention!

Smell: Coffee and cinnamon bomb on the nose!

Taste: Taste follows the nose on this one! Tons of coffee and cinnamon with hints of vanilla throughout!

Feel: Medium bodied! Smooth with a bit of a creamy texture!

Overall: Another killer brew from BG! This is a nice take on the Mexican stout! I wish they would toss some peppers in this thing sometimes! Get out there and grab some growlers of this if you can and also seek out its big brother Doublemex!

I definitely prefer the second batch of Mexican Coffee, because it actually had some great coffee and cinnamon notes to it. It felt thicker and not thin like their first batch. Now that I think about it I wish I grabbed a growler of it because I really enjoyed batch 2 of Mexican Coffee

Served in a taster glass at the brewery.

A: Dark black with minimal brown head. Looks like motor oil.
S: Straight coffee on the nose.
T: Coffee throughout with just slight maltiness.
F: Very smooth.
O: Great coffee stout. Smooth and drinkable.

Growler poured into a snifter appears black in color with a khaki brown head that fades leaving spotty lace.

The aroma is pretty strong of coffee with a slight greenness of vegetal matter and minerals/carbonic nature.

The taste is coffee forward with chocolate, cinnamon and dry roastiness that is quite pleasant. Not really picking up onnthe greenness I noticed in the nose.

This is light in body with modest to lighter carbonation. Worth trying and not bad.

Poured a dark black color with a light beige head. Aroma of coffee and cinnamon, with some vanilla too. The taste had coffee, cinnamon, vanilla, and a light residual spice in the finish. Really nice mexi coffee stout, full bodied but with modest abv. Highly drinkable beer that would be great as a dessert or even with breakfast.

The beer offers aromas of ancho and smokey pepper, roasty malts, cocoa.

The flavor follows with some pepper flavor, but mostly a well balanced stout with oatmeal roundness, milk chocolate, coffee bitterness, a medium minus mouthfeel.

This beer is a bit lower in ABV than most of the other mexican stouts out there, but the spices are on point and not overdone. I could use a bit of chili though to compliment the other spices. Can't wait to try the double/barrel aged version of this!

A. Murky dark brown with half a finger of fizzy off white head, minor lacing.
S. Sweet chocolates, roasted oat, cinnamon, light pepper, burnt toffee.
T. Pepper is real subtle but adds a nice balance to the lightly sweet creamy malt, roasted oat and light chocolate
M. Creamy and balanced.
I. Good take on this style, not incredibly rich though

Hot damn. This is a great beer. The perfect marriage of stout, coffee and spices. Great balance. Smooth experience. Give me more, please! If BG makes more stuff like this, they will become the premier brewery of Pittsburgh.
