Poured into a 12oz. snulip, Albatross pours an opaque golden haze topped with a creamy off-white head that bubbled above the rim of the glass. The aroma was full of peach, pineapple, and mango. The first sip brought an explosion of juicy hops with almost no bitterness. The amount of peach flavor was really outstanding. It was accompanied with the other flavor notes of pineapple and mango to brilliantly showcase the best that Galaxy hops have to offer. The finish was drier than expected with very little sweetness coating the palate. The mouthfeel was soft and pillowy. How a liquid can have such a full body while still maintaining that softness is baffling to me, but it makes for a very pleasurable drinking experience. Overall, this is one of the best DIPA's that I have ever had, and deserving of its score.

BG makes some world-class IPAs but this one didn’t blow me away. It has their trademark soft mineral texture & undertone, upfront there is some cantaloupe / melon pulp, slightly more earthy than “juicy”, which isn’t necessarily bad but felt there could have been stronger expression from some of those citrus elements

Poured from a growler filled at the brewery.

Pours an opaque orange straw color with 2 fingers of creamy white head. The head leaves all the lacing ever before settling into a thick blanket of foam.

The aroma brings a melange of citrus: Orange cream, tangerines, grapefruit, and key lime pie. There's a touch of pineapple and peach on the back end.

The flavor follows the nose: Orange cream, grapefruit, lemon-lime, tangerines, and papaya.

The feel is medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Very creamy and smooth with a dry finish.

Overall, a fantastic DIPA. "Juicy" is an adjective people don't care for when reviewing beer but there's simply nothing better to describe this one. It's literally fruit juice and it's damn delicious.

Thanks to JLindros for sharing.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice light orange milkshake hue with a one finger head that fades to leave nice wisps and lacing.

S - Aromas of nice citrus, musty hops, orange peel, juicy bitterness. Light malts good papaya tropical notes. Super fragrant.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, very nice green fruits, good citrus and orange peel, pleasant malts. Almost a light vanilla notes, even nice creamy oats. Really good hops, excellent mango notes.

M - Mouthfeel is fluffy, nicely carbonation.

O - Overall this is a very solid dipa. Excellent mango notes and citrus. Excellent.

Huge frothy creamy head fades semi slowly with big soapy layered lacing, murky milk shake peach orange color

Nose exploded with orange tangerine grapefruit, orange cream, tangerine juice, zest, grapefruit pith, candied pineapple, citrus juice, peach stone fruit, creamy base malt and oats

Taste big creamy malt base, fluffy cream oats and toasty malt, big hop, juicy tangerine orange zest, grapefruit pith notes, mango and tons of papaya, orange cream mango sorbet, generic tropical, peachy stone fruit. Finish dry fair bitterness, just a touch of booze, orange sherbet mango papaya sorbet.

Mouth is med bod very creamy, fluffy carb, very little booze

Overall awesome!

Hazy as can be froth clinging to the side of the glass. Smells of stron fruit but not juicy like a lot of other NEIPAs. This beer is so smooth to drink!! Strong pungent fruit up front gives way to a little dank hop profile. The flavor lingers and makes me want to take another sip. Overall I highly recommend. I got this all from a 10 day old growler. I can only imagine it fresh.

Don't know where to start. I don't write reviews on beers typically but wanted to give this one a special shout out. Its a stand out beer for its style and probably the best I've had. Soft stone fruits through and through with a pillowy soft and full mouth feel. Don't really know what else is needed to be said.

I love Pittsburgh brewery scene. So many great brews and probably the OG brewery of Pittsburgh turning out the best IPAs, is Brew Gentlemen. I have had the privilege to try a number of their brews, but have never had the chance to try any of their DIPAs. Whereas I feel General Braddock is a bit lacking, this brew is hits he hop profile perfectly. It is mango, pineapple, stone fruit bomb with a mild bitterness of a fantastic NE IPA. This is a king in a city of champions. It is on par with the top DIPAs in the style. Really love this beer and hope canning is in the future.

Feel: Super creamy. Medium full mouthfeel. Spot on carbonation.

Overall: The most tropical fruit forward beer I've ever tasted. It's absolutely amazing. Super creamy. It's the best DIPA I've ever had.

L: Warm hazy apricot, honeycomb, and cantaloupe hues with a foamy white head and incredible lacing
S: Melon and tangerines on the nose
T: Pineapple, passion fruit, and mango - super juicy
F: Soft, creamy, and somewhat thick; well carbed
O: Wow - to me this might be BG's finest IPA. I'm a sucker for Galaxy hops so that probably doesn't hurt, but the look, nose, and flavor profile of this beer is insane. Certainly Albatross is up there with FOSHOMO, Mammoth, etc. Very well executed and juicy. Really enjoyed this one.

This is much better than Foshomo, the only two BG IPAs I"ve had to date. The hops pop much more and the mouthfeel is fantastic on this one. Really enjoying it!

Yeah. They did it. This is a delicious hop juice bomb. Wow this is good. Poured from a growler. Very hazy yellowish brown. Short white head. Fantastic lacing. Strong citrus fresh hop aroma. Orange/grapefruit flavor. A bit strong on the alcohol in the taste. Mouthfeel is pleasantly heavy. Keep em coming! Go Pens!

750ml swingtop poured into a Brew Gentlemen stem glass:

Look: Pours an awesome and very hazy light yellow color. About an inch of head with plenty of lacing present and awesome lace retention. The haze in this thing is freaking awesome.

Smell: Getting huge notes of juice right off the bat. Also some tropical fruit notes or something along those lines. Smells awesome!

Taste: Dank, juicy awesomeness! Huge notes of citrus and juice! Lots of grapefruit notes as well. Not overly bitter in any way! Just downright amazing!

Feel: Medium bodied and super smooth!

Overall: This might be the best double IPA I have had to date. Haven't had any of the Northeast brewery ones to compare to but from what I have read it is right up there with them. I wish I would have gotten a full growler of this instead of the 750ml. I recommend getting down there and getting this limited brew before its too late.

Hazy juicy and delicious. This is new England style hops at their finest. I'd even say it's close to rivaling tree house. Well done BG, I will make a point to stop by every time I visit Pittsburgh.

Poured into a Libbey brand Snifter purchased at TJ Maxx from a BG 750 swing top.

L- The Beer is very Hazy, very light colored, almost looks what I would picture being straight Pear juice. Small white head that sticks around when swirled.

S- Wow. Melon, Pear, with some Tropical notes on the Mango side of things. Very subtle resiny notes. This beer is smelling like straight fruit juice. Oh boy. I'm in love.

T- WOWZA. Mango Tangerine Juice. Some melon/pear juice flavors integrated as well. Very slight taste of dank resin....very slight, this one is a total Juice Bomb. Pillowy malt bill in this one guys.

F- Feels is where this beer gets me. It has such a beautifully soft mouthfeel with a very soft rounded bitterness. Nothing in the mouthfeel is sharp. I can't stress the word SOFT enough. Bitterness is there...but it builds slowly and doesn't drop kick your face.

O- This beer is absolutely World Class. Better than some of the Tree House and HF beers I've had. The super soft mouthfeel feeds that tropical fruit juice nose and taste. Could crush this beer all day. Then take a nap. Then crush it some more later that same night. Unbelievable.

Defines the highly debatable NEIPA style. So glad I got to try this.

Holy turbid, batman. Love me some haze but this looks like orange juice mixed with baby formula. Good thing that doesn't matter when it comes to the onslaught of melon, pineapple, tangelo on the aroma. Has a hint of pine, too. Same tropical and orangey flavors with a solid grapefruit bitterness adding another dimension to the flavor. A little more carb would do this well to help integrate the flavors, but it is quite smooth and hella juicy. I like galaxy hops in BG's hands.
