This place rules. They had such an amazing selection of beer which I was not expecting. I purchased Rumpkin, Mad Elf, Higher Math, and The Beast Grand Cru. Great selection of Oregon beers and I saw some crazy brew dog beers here as well. Prices were steep, about $2 - $4 more per bottlet han expected but for such amazing beer in one place, I don't mind. The food was killer too. Amazing meat selection and their sandwhiches are worth the drive alone.

This place has been around a while, and is attached to the subsequently added on B-Sides,

The store (I cannot quite call it a bottle shop) is a butcher/sandwich shop first. They happen to be owned by the well-beer-versed Neighborhood ownership group (Churchkey/Bluejacket). As such, they get some nice beers, and a lot of seasonal stuff. But they don't have a lot of "regular" stuff. Space is an issue, to a degree, but stop in for your "immediate wants" moreso than your "go-to standards".

I especially say this because they have some nice, somewhat rare, offerings, but a small shelf area split with wines. So quality of offerings is high, breadth of offerings... meh. It is a weird place to rate.

The somewhat nice part is that I have often grabbed an offering from the restaurant next door and dragged it "next door" to this place and enjoyed it while chilling (B-Sides isn't that large, either). Just pay at the bar when you leave, and no issues - pretty sweet. Not sure if that should go into this rating or the other, so...

I've only once grabbed a sandwich from this "side" - so I N/A'd the food, but I am betting I would rate it decently, since the same kitchen serves the adjoined restaurant/bar and I have enjoyed almost everything I've had there.

Nice selection of drafts. One million bonus points for the small pours. I recommend the roast beef and cheddar.

** at Union Market in NE DC.

Awesome rotation on the draft selection at Union Market.

Always something great on, I felt lucky when I got to drink The Bruery's Tart of Darkness on tap!

Always go for the Porkstrami sandwich.
