Went there for lunch and to try a beer or two.
Sat at the bar and ordered from the "shareables" appetizer menu of any two items for $9.50.
Food was quite good. The Milk Stout was a better stout than the Atherton Lager was for a lager.

Place was fairly empty so the vibe is honestly too early to call. The bartender (Nikki) was friendly and engaged in customer conversation.
We will be going back.

Home D (Robin Hood Brewing Co.) is an interesting place to visit/review, so I'll do it in a few parts.

First... the Robin Hood Brewing Co., which was added to the restaurant in 2014 or so and serving their own beer. Their beers are hit or miss... and more miss, and they don't come close to stacking up to Otto's or Happy Valley Brewing Co. in State College. That being said a few of their rotating/special releases are pretty good like the Longbow Imperial IPA, the Big Willie Scarlet Imperial Red, and an above average bourbon aged wee heavy. They're still finding themselves, but in general their Robin Hood beers aren't up to snuff yet.

That being said... they also have a great rotating selection of craft beers on tap which can be a lot more impressive (especially for central PA)... and the last few times I've been in they've had stuff from Stone, Lagunitas, and even a few belgians like Rodenbach. So you can always find a great beer... it just might not be from Robin Hood.

As for food... they have a huge menu and a few of the pasta dishes are respectable, but we mostly come in for some of their weekly specials (like $1.50 sicilian slice nights etc.). The pizza is quite good and the calzones/stromboli's are tasty, so if you work with their strengths you'll be in good shape. The ambiance is nice... generous seating, 2 bars (both in State College and Bellefont), and my only real gripe is the service. We've taken to only eating at the bar as the wait service is so poor.

Overall: Sub par brewery with a few decent offerings, very good selection of quality rotating craft beers, decent pizza, terrible wait service (eat at the bar if you want it tonight!).

Nice clean bar. Good bartenders and a great selection. They finally made the mug club worth joining by adding special pricing a free pour once a week and larger mugs for members.

The beer is vastly improved from the early days. The selection is growing and some beers are approaching world class quality. Not bad for a home town joint. The food isn't cheap, a bit on the pricy side but it isn't bad either. All in all worth while. Good stuff happeneing here.

This started as a long-standing pizza joint/bar in State College (Home Delivery Pizza), branched to a second location in Bellefonte handful of years ago, and then they started brewing their own beer last fall.

The food selection, before the brewery addition and after, is quite hit-or-miss. Pizza is good. Some sandwiches are good. And they have all your standard bar staples. But I have gotten too many sub-par meals there. Their menu is VERY large, but in my opinion they need to cut the menu in half and learn to consistently do it well.

The beer, also falls in line with the food. Some goodies (like their red ale), some so-so beers, and a couple flops (like their IPA). A good selection of styles though and some interesting seasonal beers, like a bourbon barrel-aged Wee Heavy.

Nothing spectacular, but it could be worth stopping in if you're ever travelling across PA on I-80 (only a few minutes off the Bellefonte exit).
