amazing new spot, been open just a few months. its easily the best new brewery ive been too in a long time. way way out east by the hospital out there in a new little development. its owned by the folks that own the pub across the street, and you can order food and have it run over (quite tasty and convenient). i love the vibe here, handmade wooden tables and bar, open feel with some patio seating and the brewhouse (10 bbl) in the back. bartender was super friendly, as was the owner, and most importantly, the beer here is dynamite. unfortunately, they had just 3 selections this week, but thats not usually the case from what i understand, and should improve soon. the ipa is insanely good, one of the best in denver. they also had a lemongrass wit that was well done and inventive, as well as a honey raspberry imperial saison that drinks a lot lighter than its 10% abv should. i expect them to do very well, given the proximity to the hospital and the relatively captive audience out there, but also do well with the beer geeks in town. the beer is high headed and yet unpretentious. brilliantly conceived and executed, and i am already looking forward to getting back out there and trying some more stuff. definitely worth the drive down east colfax. very very very impressed.

Little place I happened into. It’s by a medical campus.
There’s a poker table with several guys elbows up gaming.
Relatively few beer options, and what I sampled was pretty good.
Service is slow paced, even though there’s a few hospital orderlies enjoying a tip.
Not someplace I’d make a special trip to, but it’s nice to see fresh beer near a campus hospital.

I understand this place is hopping during the week. I've only been here on Saturday during the day. It's quiet and I love it. Wish I lived closer, I'd make it my neighborhood brewery.

This is the local brewery for the medical campus as well as the surrounding area. It was formerly known as Coda Brewing but has since changed the name. They've got a good selection on tap and are in the process of changing the theme of the brewery, so look for some associated changes in the future. It gets pretty packed at happy hour with people from the campus but if you don't mind that, it's certainly worth a visit, even if you are coming from off campus. They also provide some of the beers for the Cedar Creek Pub across the street, owned by the same owner.

Interesting spot, seems a bit away from everything. Mixed use newer building, but it's seems to be well done on the inside. Small, but inviting, and also has a few seats on a patio outside.

Quality was pretty good. Beers seem to be a work in progress though. The Alt I had was pretty good, I also sampled the DIPA, and it was decent but seemed a bit flawed. (too sweet for my liking)

Selection was a bit of a let down. It's a small place, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. But they had only 7 beers on tap.

Service was very good. The guy working the bar was very friendly and helpful. Also was very willing to come over to our table to serve us beers.

Overall, not a destination, but would be a decent local spot if you lived in the area.

V-CODA is located in a newer mixed-use complex on the hospital campus on the east side of town. The interior space is small to medium sized with a wood bar that seats 12 and half-dozen bigger tables that probably seat eight people each. A little patio is attached and there is a small stage that takes up some space. Brewing equipment is somewhat hidden behind the bar. The place was pretty empty when I visited on a late Saturday afternoon; just one group with a dog and a couple at the bar.

Q-The witbier I tried didn't do me any favors but the unique passion fruit Kolsch was tasty and a good summertime drinker. The stout looked good too, but it was 95 degrees so I held off. The beers weren't perfect, but they were above average in terms of quality.

Ser-The bar tender seemed somewhat put out by having to serve me. Perhaps it was just his personality, but I didn't feel like he was having a good day...I think he was more interested in selecting music to play on his phone (he WAS playing good music, at least). This score loses more points because the beers were served in mason jars...a witbier in a mason jar? I guess I'm a glass snob.

Sel-CODA had ten beers on tap when I visited. No guest offerings. The styles were mostly lighter, summer-appropriate beers like the Kolsch and some pale ale offerings, but they had a big 10% ABV IIPA and a barleywine on too. A nice spread. They had a few of their bottles for take-away too.

O-I don't know that I would drive out here again to visit, but if I lived out east, I would stop by CODA on the regular. The beers, while not mind-blowing, had some potential and I can imagine the place having a good vibe if there were a few more people in there to keep the bartender from getting grumpy. This could be a comfortable spot in an odd location.

Great place, glad to have wandered in. Had a couple of their beers, all with musical inspired names. Electric guitar hangs on the wall ready to play, wish I could have been there on a night with a band. Loved their IPA, and the bar staff really knew their stuff. Can't get much closer to the brew equipment, it is literally behind the bar! Highly recommend.

I went to Coda right when they opened so that place was a little dead. That being said the service and beer was excellent. We tried tasters out of little beakers which was a nice touch. I was really impressed by the variety and quality of the beer. Everything from the Kolsch to the Saison were spot on except for 1 IPA that had some off flavors. I would highly recommend the brewery.

EDIT: At the time I tossed this up originally, the place was known as Coda. Beers were hit and miss (some great, some definitely not), but it was decent enough.
Now I feel that the beers are almost universally good with some being stellar. They tinker with adjuncts in a lot of cases, but they're one of the few places doing that really well without being stupid about it.
The staff is friendly and there's plenty of space. You can even order food from the Cedar Creek Pub across the street.
The only knock on the place is parking. Because of the med school and apartments that surround the place, parking is at a premium most evenings. Sometimes it's non-existent. Parking in the wrong lot is quick way to get towed, too. Not their fault, but I have had to leave thanks to no parking before.
