33 cl bottle poured into a St. Martins tulip. Best by of May 2015.

Aroma of hops and sweetness.

Appealing appearance - medium amber with a solid white head. Good retention with little lacing.

Perhaps I would like this better with more age on the bottle. All the flavor elements seemed to be competing rather than uniting. Sugar followed by a metalic tang and occaisional tastes of phenols, hops and honey. Surprisingly strong alcohol taste for an 8% abv.

Overall pleasing, but i would not buy this again.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy rust color with a decent head (though not nearly as impressive as it should be for a Belgian); a few splashes of lace remain

Smell: Bread and sugary cake frosting with hints of stone fruit and phenols

Taste: Bready and slightly sweet, up front, with a spicy phenols developing along with the stone fruit flavors; after the swallow, apricot, coriander and honey tones build, though there is a lingering tartness to the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Perhaps a bit too much age on this one but an interesting Tripel; I like that it is not overly sweet like many others I have tried; the carbonation appears to have suffered over time, limiting the score

Thanks, briiguy, for the opportunity

poured into a small chalice.

Hazy gold, white foamy head lacing up nicely.

Sweet fruit and floral hop wafts over a light malt base on the nose.

Medium bodied, nicely balanced sweetness, hops, and abv. Lingering spicy-sweet aftertaste.

Tripels are not usually my favorite but I could have a few of these.
