Very good job here for an American Porter, one of the better ones I've been introduced to lately. Nicely dark brown color with hints of black, and just enough mahogany light shining through. The tan head is thick with tiny bubbles, and lasts a good long while.
Aroma is dominated by dark chocolate and a hint of mocha, but there are some dark fruits, caramel and floral hops just underneath it all. The flavor is extremely well-woven together, and that's where this beer really shines. There is a real trick to balancing the chocolate and caramel malts so that neither one stands out yet they blend together into a cohesive unit; that's what is happening here. Combine that with a rich, smooth mouthfeel, and just the perfect amount of hops and residual sugars, and you have yourselves a real winner.
This is a real pleasure to drink, and something to look forward to if you are in this part of the Catskills.

Dark brown opaque with tan head. Smells of cocoa and heavy coffee. Tastes the same. Solid traditional porter styled offering that reminds me of Founder's breakfast stout but it lacks the complexity. Finished heavy and smooth.

A great example of the style that hits all the boxes.
