Notes / Commercial Description:
once upon a time there was a young brew master who fell in love with a ginger haired maiden. he loved her fiery locks, quick wit and samurai sharp personality. he proposed marriage and crafted a beer for her, an original red ale brewed with refreshing fresh ginger and a touch of hoppiness that typified her personality. when she took her first sip at their wedding she knew she had made the right choice. try tyler’s ginga ninja red ipa brewed with 6 lbs of fresh ginger in every batch and hopped with centennial, cascade & bravo hops. if not at your wedding then on a hot afternoon as you wait on your pig to finish roasting, or while chompin on a crisp apple and a creamy wheel of camembert.

The nose on this is fantastic for a ginger IPA. Tons of ginger and some pineyness. The flavor is about the same with a lasting malt sweetness that sort of tingles on the back of the tongue. I'm not a huge fan of ginger but it plays well with this beer. Would definitely drink this again.

Pours hazy, orange-brown in color with 1/3 inch head. Taste is toasted malt, tangerine, and ground ginger powder. Medium bodied and well balanced. Not the most bitter of IPAs, but tasty. Incorporates the ginger so it complements the flavor and never seems gimmicky. I will get this one again.

12 oz can into New Belgium "snifter".

Pours a gorgeous hazy red-orange amber. Big fluffy 1.5 finger head that doesn't want to go away. Leaving some nice sticky, slightly soapy, lacing on the glass. It's got some legs!

BIG wave of fresh, bright, spicy ginger on the nose that intermingles beautifully with citrus and floral notes. An amazing nose here. I can't believe how well the hops and the ginger come together to create an aroma like I've not smelled before! Taste comes through with a lot of ginger. Wow. Strong floral notes and a bit of citrus come and go, making way for some nice biscuity malt character on the back end. I get a subtle spice from the malt...rye? The body nicely backs up the fairly complex flavors, but the taste just doesn't come through with quite the oomph of the nose. Wish it did! Overall, a pleasant surprise! Can't say I was super excited about this one, as I'm not a huge fan of ginger, but I'm glad I got it as an extra! Not sure I'd buy it, or drink more than one at a time, but overall pretty cool. Thanks DanforthPewter!

Orangey dark copper colored, very clear with a frothy head of eggshell colored foam that lingers long. Aroma of subtle hops and ginger, though I might not have been able to identify the flavor if I hadn't known already. Ginger and hops go surprisingly well together. Ginger adds a bit of a spicy kick, but it's well balanced with the hops. Full mouthfeel, creamy and round, very nice. Interesting and tasty beer.

Had on tap at KC's Pub in Guilford, poured a darker color than expected, almost brown. Smells of a light ginger note and some resinous hops. The taste is really great, but I can see why this is such a polarizing beer. It's not super hoppy like an IPA. It's quite sweet with some herbal notes in the middle. Finishes with a touch of ginger, nothing excessive. It's drinkable and tasty, but I feel it should be categorized more as a brown ale than an IPA.

Really beginning to love Ginger beers. This one was so crisp and clean. The ginger is there but it is far from overpowering.
The slight bitterness of Ginger blended perfectly. Very nice and clean finish

Received as an extra in a trade and am very pleasantly surprised. Canned 2/11/15, nice and hoppy, ginger is a pleasant addition. Really enjoyed this one!

Rust water brown with with a hint of orange is the color of this beer. Nice and clear with light pearling. Thick foamy head on the top that slowly fades to a thin lace. Hints of hops on the nose with a slight sweetness blended in. Taste is the typical IPA with hops up front. Piney and bitter but learking ins a light hint of ginger, not overpowering but it makes itself present. Clean on the pallet and easily enjoyable. A nice IPA.
