Toasted, Bready, Chicory, Crust

An Oatmeal Brown Ale of sorts, with both malted and flaked oats bringing forth a lot of depth. Very malt forward with suggestions of cocoa powder, mild roast coffee, faint caramel and toasted bread from additions of both roasted and toasted malts. Well balanced with a kiss of hop flavor. Robust and drinkable, and not your typical Brown, which perhaps makes it that much more enjoyable.

A very dark brown color. Small tan head. No lace.
Roasted malt aroma, some chocolate, a little nutty.
Taste follows the nose. Chocolate and nuts. Sweet.
Smooth and easy to drink.

Reddish brown colored with burnished copper highlights and an oatmeal colored head that settles out quickly to a low cap. Rich aroma of cocoa and toffee, toasted dark bread. Flavor matches the nose, punctuated with a subtle hop flavor and a finish that gradually increases in bitterness from hops and an espresso sharpness. Lots of character, and depth of flavor. Full mouthfeel, finishes with a tingly flourish. Great beer.

Really nice, smooth brown ale. A touch roasted and a hair sweet, finishes bitter. Not as roasty as a stout and not as sweet as a porter. A really great beer perfect for cooler fall days.

Interesting pour.Somewhere between a Brown Ale, Smoked Porter, or some Barleywines.
No really distinctive smell or aroma. Fist taste was big and full. This one was almost chew able.
Nicely balanced with a long long finish that slowly takes you from the chewy-ness to finesse
