Black Hog Brewing Co. "HAZY"
16 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON 2/20/24". Sampled on 5/16/24
$3.99 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: I'm not sure what a CT style juicy IPA is but I'm willing to give it a try. It's got the look I expect with a cloudy golden body beneath a fingers width of creamy white foam. The aroma is definitely juicy. It's sweetish with notes of peach, apricot, citrus, and a little bit of woodiness. The taste follows with even more sweetness and fruitiness. There's some oat flavor to the malt, and I'm guessing the grain bill is Pilsner, flaked oats, and malted wheat. I get peach and berries up front, followed by orange, melon, apricot and ruby grapefruit across the middle, and then pine/woodiness, resins, and earthiness in the finish. My guess on the hops is Mosaic, Simcoe, and Citra - if you're familiar with those you've got the whole thing right there. The body is as expected as well with a silky smoothness from all of the extra proteins. It's medium bodied, crisp, and then smooth. The head held up well and it's left some decent lacing about the glass but it probably could have been better. In the end it's a little on the sweet side but still a very good juicy NEIPA.

A: Pures a thick cloudy peach color. Fluffy/creamy two fingers of white head. Retention is good with great lacing down the glass.
S: Juicy. An array of fruit flavors. Citric. Sugary.
T/M: Follows the aroma with a bang of juicy fruit flavors. Citric and sweet. Grapefruit, lemon, orange.... Tart and bitter. Medium bodied. Has a slight warming alcohol feel. Clean aftertaste mostly with a slight tart taste lingering.
O: Solid NEIPA really. Great fruity flavors hit nicely. No freshness date on can but it sure tasted fresh!
Cheers!!

Very drinkable Nepa. Pleasant mouthfeel and mild citrus flavor. Great value at around. $10 a four pack. It’s a local brewery and I will buy more.

16 oz. can. Somewhat cloudy with some nice white foam. The flavor has some flowery citrus without being overwhelming. Not too sweet or cloying. I'm no expert with hazy IPAs but this one was very enjoyable and I'd be happy to have a second.

Smells fresh. Juicy is the main keyword with this beer. Has lots of pretty lacing down the glass. Very pleasing beer

This is a really nice hazy IPA. Not super citrusy, but it has a really nice mouth feel. This goes for $9 a 16oz 4 pack in CT - Heck of a value!

Best IPA value for me. At $2.50 per pint, it's very tough to beat. Prove me wrong.

From a 16 oz. can dated 08/10/21. Sampled September 25, 2021.
The appearance is what you would expect in a hazy IPA with its opaque, pulpy, hay light amber color and cream colored head.
The aroma tend to lean toward pine and resin with a bit of tropical fruit and citrus in the background.
Mouthfeel is medium.
the taste has a quick caramel malt sweetness but it evolves into a resin and pine-forward hop bitterness. Not bad and it fits the NEIPA style.
