Notes: III (pronounced as “three”) is our hybrid of a Tripel & a Double IPA brewed with brettanomyces. III is brewed with pilsner malt & a touch of unmalted wheat along with copious amounts of hops.

This version of III is a 50/50 blend of young ale & a matured version in Zinfandel barrels. The barrel maturation softens the hop character & brings out notes of peach, apricot & grapefruit.

Blended in 2015, batch number 2, batch date 12.22.2015. Drank 08.17.16.

Another OEC beer that upon first sip, you think "they've knocked it out of the park again"!

Look - gold, clear

Smell - light brett but mild, much stronger than the taste

Taste - Sweet from the triple, full body from the dubble, and the brett and hops interact perfectly for some bitterness and thirst quench.

Overall - There is nothing tart or sour about this "wild" beer; this is just an insanely sweet malty bitter tasty yellow beer, that is very funky. Interesting thing about this beer is that I drank the first half over 45 minutes, but liked the beginning part right out of the fridge better. I still loved it as it warmed, but comparing this to an IPA while still cold (or following an IPA), gave this beer so much more meaning.

Oh this is damn lovely. So beautiful on the pour, hazy orange, total unfiltered. Smells like a fruity brett compliment - superb! Tastes great, one of the best brett IPAs I've ever had the pleasure sipping on. right up there with Brett Loves Citra from Casey. This is damn delicious. Feel is super smooth, way to drinkable - even being a triple IPA, the brett somehow develops really well into the hops. incredible balanced and wheaty. Overall an exceptional brew, I will definitely seek this out again!

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Huge white head atop a hazy light orange body. Smells like brett, tropical fruits, some hops, and tripel yeastiness. Taste is intense and a little rough. Some of that tropical fruit comes through. Lots of bretty earthiness. Oak. Strong tripel flavor that kinda detracts. Unpleasant finish. Medium heavy. High carbonation. Not my favorite OEC offering.

Thanks to jmgrub for sharing this one at mrbubbler's tasting.

Blended in 2015. Batch Number 1. Batch Date 2/11/15.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour with grain, fruit, funk, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour grain, fruit, funk, spice, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with awesome sour and funk characteristics coming from this blend of beers.

Serving type: bottle.

This was a very interesting blend with complex flavors throughout.

The taste was quite good.

It stood strong alongside some Hill Farmstead beers at a recent tasting.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with a thick, white head. Aroma is funky, slightly tart and definitely hoppy. Smells of barrel, too. Flavor is funked and tart for sure and there is a unique hoppiness. Grasswater. Tropical fruits. Oaky finish. Funky hop and fruit. Has a sort of creamy feel. Bright carbonation. I really enjoyed this beer. It's different than many Wilds I have tried.
