Notes: For this Artista Zynergia project – we went to work with Kiuchi Brewery out of Japan.

Blend #1 (blended 4/27/2017) – This blend is 30% young ale & 70% 1 year old ale matured in Pinot Noir/Gin (Portland, OR) & Zinfandel (Napa, CA) barrels with the addition of yuzu and oranges from our greenhouse.

Hazy opaque saturated orange, little if any head, barely a thin ring at the edges.
Aroma is acidic and citrusy, sour orange or tangerine, not much distinctive yuzu.
Taste is moderately sour, acidic with a slight wet hay Brett character and a mellow sour orange note.
Mellow and light to medium bodied, low carbonation, supple feel with a bracing acidity and clean finish.
Overall this was fun to try, not my favorite from OEC, but certainly good stuff.
I've heard the Artista Zynergia beers are brewed abroad and barreled/blended/packaged at OEC.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like floral funk, intense lemony acidity, citrus, orange peel, and lemongrass.

This worked well - the orange/yuzu additions are a nice complement, but don't overwhelm the beer. There's a nice floral and herbal funk, along with white wine, and a big lemon character. It's moderately sour, but not quite as puckering as most OEC tends to be.

This is acidic, but soft on the finish, with a good drinkability to it. It was clearly blended well.

I always want to try new OEC blends and wild creations, and this was very pleasant.
