This beer is brewed with a blend of barley malts and crushed wheat to gently lighten the body. True Blue is a crisp blueberry ale with an assertive blueberry nose followed by a more subtle blueberry flavor in the body of the beer. We feel you won't find another beer quite like it.

I'm not usually a beer reviewer but my parents picked this up on a trip to Canada and bought it back from me as a present and it is bloody delicious. Not too hoppy, gentle blueberry flavour without being one of those "IM A FRUIT BEER" beers, also lasts a very long time on the shelf. If it was available in the UK me and my dad would have bought a tonne of it.

The appearance had a clean copper colored body with a half finger white head, there was some sporadic lacing leaving no rings. The lacing gently slid down the sides of the glass. The smell was centered around the blueberries with just a bit of malt in the background. The taste was the same, blueberries followed by the malts. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium, sessionable, crisp and clean - very balanced. Overall, this is an excellent choice for a blueberry ale if one decides to go for one. I would definitely have this again.

This blueberry wheat ale pours a reddish orange color with a medium foamy head and a high amount of carbonation. There is a significant blueberry scent and some wheat also. Although the blueberry scent is strong it doesn’t seem as artificial as many blueberry beers that I’ve tried. The smell is quite pleasant. The flavor is much like the scent, slightly sour / slightly sweet blueberry and wheat with a slight hoppy, dry finish. The body is on the low end of medium. One positive thing about this beer is that although the blueberry flavor is quite strong it doesn’t come off as artificial. It’s actually a really nice, clean flavor. However, I do think that this would be a better beer if the blueberry flavor was more subtle and if this was a little more complex than just blueberries and wheat. It’s definitely far from a bad example of a blueberry beer (of which there are many), but I’ve had at least one or two that are better also.

I was surprised by this beer. I'm never overly enthusiastic with fruit beers, but Bar Harbor did a wonderful job balancing the local Maine blueberry flavor with quality malt/hop base. Not overpowering at all; delightfully refreshing.

Poured out as a nice copperish gold color with a fizzy white head on top.

There wasn't much lacing really of retention by mid glass. The smell of blueberries was faint

The taste of the beer didn't have too much a wheat body to it in my opinion, or a decent amount of blueberry flavor to it. I had a sample at the brewwer that was much better. Perhaps the bottle was old. No Date stamp on the bottle

Thanks Adam for sending.
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a somewhat dark amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Crisp stringy lacing roams around the glass nicely.
The smell definitely has the sweet crisp blueberries. Authentic and classicly woven into light biscuity malts.
The taste had the sweetness of the blueberries and slyly let in a light little tart (making me think this is definitely the wild blueberry). Biscuity malts come back nicely to balance.
The mouthfeel was about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel to it.
Overall, what's not to like, its slightly like drinking biscuits with a blueberry jam on top. Makes me want to visit Maine!

Amber brown in color with with moderate cloudiness. A fingernail of eggshell white head is present. Very tart aroma of blueberries is present in a subdued and palatable form. The front of the palate is blueberries but is mellowed out by the presence of wheat. The mouth is moderately carbonated.
