Canadian tall boy can (473 ml). This was a fairly standard pale ale, with just enough hop to please my taste buds. I'd buy it again for a session (poker?). I paired this can with some Canadian "All Dressed" Ridgies. It was not a bad combo.

Golden and hazy with lots of carbonation and 6 fingers of yellowish head.

Smells of pine and perfume.

Tastes of perfume and a long, dull bitterness on the finish.

Light body with moderate carbonation.

Got at LCBO, drinking on Lake Rosseau, June 4th, 2018.

473 ml can served cold into a beer mug. An LCBO purchase for around $3 CDN.

Appearance - pours a hazy fine hued orange color with a finger and a half of fluffy off-white head. Pretty good retention and some lacing left behind.

Smell - not a lot of nose, with apples being most prominent and some grape and faint hints of citrus.

Taste - middling bitterness, some earthiness, English hop presence and a touch of citrus. Not as fruity as I'd expected.

Mouthfeel - smooth with plenty of active carbonation, some spritzy bits on the tongue and light body.

Overall - A serviceable if not overwhelming pale ale with English leanings. Worth a try, but may not blow too many people away.

Side Launch Brewing Company's Pale Ale. 473 ml can. 5.3% alc. Brewed in Collingwood, Ontario.

The beer has a light beige head. The beer itself is a honey golden colour. There is some sediment showing, plenty of ascending bubbles, and an overall haziness.

The beer has a faint fragrance of pine and citrus, plus a hint of maltiness.

The taste is more dominant than the aroma. There is pine, citrus, some malt, and a general hop bitterness that is enjoyable. There is also a slight fruity flavour at play that I can't quite put my finger on.

The body is medium.

The beer is quite smooth. Very gulpable if you enjoy this style.

The finish crisp and dry.

The beer would pair well with anything, but in particular barbecue and seafood, in my opinion.

This is a nice offering by all means.

473ml can, part of the mixed sixer pack that this 're-launched' Ontario brewery's wares show up in around here.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden amber colour, with three fat-ass fingers of puffy, rocky, and chunky ecru head, which leaves some thick, splotchy 'lace' around the glass as it very lazily subsides.

It smells of bready and doughy pale malt, a lesser caramel sweetness, earthy yeast, muddled tropical fruit notes, and some testy leafy, piney, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is crackery and bready caramel malt, a further biscuity graininess, muted domestic citrus rind, a hint of pineapple core, extant yeast, and more leafy, herbal, and floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its gently buoying frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and mostly smooth, nothing really getting in the way of a good time here, no sirree! It finishes off-dry, the robust malt keepin' 'er tight, while the hops continue to act all anonymous-like, and well, uninteresting.

Overall, this isn't a bad brew, but as already mentioned, there just seems to be something about it that doesn't float the boat that would uplift my skirt, or the like. Anyways, maybe it's the English leanings (those don't really appeal to me, for this particular style), or maybe it's just the (psychic) hangover from last night's election bender.
