It doesn't get much better than this. Fantastic selection, excellent and friendly customer service, tons of quality stuff including some harder-to-find items, and an ultra-cool vibe with brewery-logo bicycles and guitars hanging from the ceiling. The girl who was on duty during my visit was very helpful in trying to locate a particular beer I was looking for. Great selection of wines and spirits of all types. If you find yourself anywhere near the Wichita area, by all means look this place up. It's well worth a side trip.

My first perfect rating and I'm glad it could go to this store. If it comes through KS it's probably at Rob's. Huge selection of refrigerated singles for mix your own 6ers, lots of bombers and 6packs, 12packs, variety packs both cold and warm. Friendly, helpful service but they're not overbearing and will let you browse in peace. On the negative side though you will occasionally find a beer or 6pack past its best by date but a couple like that slipping through the cracks of their huge selection is to be expected. They are a bit pricey as well but it's by no means outlandishly high. Best place for craft beer in Wichita hands down.

I have been here many times, but since I only look at the beer side, I'll only talk about that part of the store.

The place is well-lit and everything is marked. The selection is great. If it's in Kansas, it's here.

The service is terrific and they know how to help you find whatever it is you may be looking for.

One of the better places in Wichita for beer, but still has issues like other places in town.

I requested a case of a certain beer, from the owner himself and never got a call that it was in.

Instead, they just stopped carrying it at all.

They were annoyed when I asked them about it and didn't answer my question.

Can say enough good things about this place, the people, or the selection. Had a few questions about some random German beers and one of the salesman walked me down the isles and pointed out several outstanding selections. Each of the beers recommended he had personally tried and all were great. They even had some really hard to find stuff that I had been dying to try like Mirror Mirror. Great experience.

First off, this is definitely a 5 if you compare it to other options in the area but for the beer tourist I have to deduct a little. Distribution is tough in Kansas and worse in Oklahoma. Had an extensive singles selection which everyone should like immensely, and they had a risky beer I wanted to try on sale from Rogue. If I need beer in Wichita without a doubt this where you go.

Visited on a Monday evening. Not busy.

A - Clean, bright, standard shelves, boxes, singles, sixes, bombers.

Q - From what I could tell, everything could be found cold. To what degree the beer was properly stored prior - no idea.

S - I don't like when folks hover as it can take me time to scan, contemplate and choose. There was no hovering. But everyone was friendly and ready to help when encountered.

S - A broad selection. It will take awhile to drink yourself through their bottles. I did find the Chimay Anniversay Cinq Cent, and there was a good selection of Schafly and Hoppin Frog, but I thought the selection was weak on Belgian and Germans. Also nothing super special on the Americans.

V - A place should price to the market so I never complain about price, but they were still a bit over what I might consider average.

What a find. The beer drinking citizens of Wichita are very fortunate to have this institution in their community. The selection claims to be, and I don't dispute, more than a 1000 different beers, but at one point had been as many as 1400. Many of them are available in singles, almost all were in coolers, and the light was low. The service was as excellent as I have ever experienced or witnessed. Way above and beyond the call of duty. Not just for me, but the other patrons as well. The attention to quality and details was apparent in all aspects of the operation. I'd score the service a 6 if I could. The staff apologized for the fact that some breweries and distributors not being available in Kansas, but of course that is not their fault. I could go on, but I don't feel like it. This is the highest score I have ever given a place or a beer. Oh, and there were mystery cases of 12oz bottles for $30...fun. This is absolutely one of the top retail stores I have been to. If they had better distribution in Kansas (no Shelton Bros, and many of the Michigan big guys like Bells and Founders) it would absolutely be the best I've visited. Belmont Station is the only one that is coming to mind that compares in all areas.

Be thankful, Wichita!

Just moved to Wichita and this is definitely the place to go for beer. The staff is always very friendly and calls you by name. Also you get a discount off of certain products if you're from out of state. The only gripes I have about the selection are because certain breweries don't have distribution in Kansas yet. This unfortunately includes some of my very favorites from past lives (Dogfish head, Bells, etc), but I've also been able to try a lot of brews I haven't had in other places, especially the very fine craft brews from Boulevard. Check this place out!

I visited this place after reading the glowing reviews. I'm from Texas so I wanted to see what local brews I could find that we don't have down there. Wow, what a selection. I didn't know where to begin so I asked a staff member what beers were from the midwest region and what were the best ones to try. He was very helpful and by the time I was done picking I had over 30 packs of beer. The rest of the staff was great as well. It was a really good experience. They also gave me 3 free bottle openers which was very cool of them. Plus Wednesday was beer night so I received 10% off my purchase. They call it Goebel Liquor/Robs World of Beers but to me its beer heaven. I will definitely return every time I'm back in town.

Went there the day before Father's Day while in town for a wedding. Store came highly recommended from the Midwest Forum. My daughter took me (7 1/2) as our Father's Day and I got a bit worried seeing the 21 only. Asked if she was OK at the counter and got a very friendly response. They told me about the singles in back and where I could find the beers that I was looking for that aren't back in Illinois / Wisconsin.

Selection was great and store was really neat and organized. Singles were easy to go through and the selection blew me away. Appreciated the date stickers on packs that do not bottle date.

Got a great slection of mostly local IPA's and the price was right. I had made myself a mental note earlier to get a bottle opener but had forgotten by the time I got to the counter. They offered me a free keychain bottle opener, knowing I was out of town and even had suckers for my daughter. An awesome place.

Great service. I work in a service industry so I expect great service when I shop and the staff always delivers. I drive out of my way to purchase here because they have a great selection and the staff is always friendly and willing to answer questions and offer suggestions. I am a liquor drinker because I have not found a beer I enjoy until Woodchuck Amber The staff has taken e time to find out what I like and then offer suggestions based on my taste. Definitely friendlier that several other establishments in my town. I will continue to make the drive to purchase here and will definitely recommend them to everyone I know. Thank You!

This place rocks. I was surprised to find a store with this good of a selection for its size and for its location. I wasn't expecting Wichita to be such a beer city, but this place in itself makes the city a great beer city!
Small place, but 2/3 of the store is devoted to beer. AND all the BMC crap is seperated from the good stuff for easy browsing. Much nicer and slightly upscale feeling compared to the big box chain stores which youd normally have to go to to get this selection. Vintage selections and other hidden gems throughout. Its gotta be the best beer store within 300 miles or more.

I just realized I hadn't reviewed this store. It is the best I have found in the great plains.

Rob runs a great store. Best selection of beer that is available in the state, and he is always trying to get more variety into the state. If you are in the area, you have to visit this store. The selection not only contains most every beer available, but there are also some that have been in the cellar aging away.

Wednesday is discount day, 15% on most. Also, if you live in the area, get on the e-mail list. There you get notices of special offers and invites to special occasions, such as the annual visit to Rob's personal cellar, which puts most stores to shame.

If I didn't live so close to the second best store in the area (Global) I would be in Rob's every week.

Glad I checked BA before heading on my beer run.

Had a liquor store two blocks from my hotel that I used when I arrived because it was close and found the usual yellow fizzy stuff.

Determined to find some quality brews I checked BA and drove from one side of Wichita to the other (nearly 10 mins) to check this place out.

Was rewarded with a fantastic selection, knowledgeable staff and a couple of previously untried beers that as soon as I fire this off am going to curl up next to.

A+ for Goebel's and A++ for BA

My wife went to Wichita for a scrapbooking weekend, so naturally I had to find the nearest craft beer store and send her. She has been on many beer shopping trips with me and knows what to expect. I am happy to say that she was very impressed with Goebel's. The owner was immediately helpful when she arrived. She handed him the list I had sent her with and he told her what was available or not and put what he could in her hands. He was unsure of something on the list and asked her to call me on her cell so he could clarify. I was very impressed! I spoke with him, and was very impressed with his knowledge and suggestions. My wife came home with some great finds. She was excited about the selection of beers she liked and what I have been looking for. The store was very clean and organized she said. She also liked the large amount of beers that were sold individually. My wife recommends this store to anyone in the area, and I am ready for her to go again!!!

Goebel Liquor is the quintessential place to buy craft beer in Wichita. This store has the widest selection of beer, period. There is at least one, if not two aisles dedicated to craft beer 6 packs. Craft 6 packs are available cold or warm. There is large cooler for single bottles to make mixed 6 packs. The selection is absolutely top notch with new seasonals coming in virtually each week. This is the only liquor store in town that I can go to to get what I need when I'm looking for something I cannot find anywhere else in town. The owner, Rob, has enormous experience about every beer he sells, and the entire staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The same staff members have been there as long as I can remember, so there's a good consistency there that is refreshing. The prices are actually quite fair, many stores are more expensive. Hands down, this is the best craft beer store in Wichita, period.

I was in the area for work and have to say this place is the BEST! If you read past reviews you will see but honestly they really know what they are talking about. The selection is OUTSTANDING. The service you get is beyond exceptional...Great people. The prices are resonable...I mean your paying for good beer. I would recommend anyone in the area stop by and check them out. The amount of knowledge they know makes the experience so much more delightful. I highly suggest to anyone go in and check this place out. Who would have thought WICHITA, KS would have such a great place.
