On tap at Brabart in San Diego

A clear, golden-yellow brew from local upstarts, Coucil. Light zesty nose with marshmallowy sweetness and berry-fruity esters. Flavors are straightforward and simple, with fruity funk at the front of the sip, quickly extinguished by a grassy dryness. Light on the palate, and finishes quickly with some lingering bitter funk.

Not a bad drinking beer, but lacking complexity. I've been really curious about this little brewery - there's been a ton of local buzz but the BA didn't correlate. This is nothing buzzworthy.

Clear amber color with a fine-grained foam. Pleasantly sudsy in the mouth. Interesting clove and fermenting pineapple aroma. The brewer says this is made with a Westmalle type yeast, and the yeast really drives the flavors. this is really, really strong with clove. You get used to the taste after a while but it's quite an eye-opener.

Lots of the bubblegum flavor, but so sweet and spicy it's remarkable. However the yeast works its magic, and the flavors eventually dry out some. Still it's a malt candy delight that is more suited for micro-sipping. On tap at the Claremont Mesa brewery.

Very in keeping with the traditional Belgian style. Very light and crisp with a good amount of sweetness from the malt on the finish while maintaining that typical tripel taste upfront.
