This is lighter bodied in the mouth than expected. The alcohol content is less disguised by the slimmer body. Tangy and fruity. Light aroma of alcohol and peaches.
This is a very workmanlike Dubbel (yes, I know, the brewer is is woman) and totally drinkable. I like this better than a lot of American (or Belgian) Dubbles I've had. It seems to have a robust malty flavor with less sugar. There is a nice touch of dry and tart at the finish. Just a hint of raisins with a barky, roast barley taste.
Pleasant light yeasty flavors with just enough of the dry Belgian tang. From the 32 oz jug filled today at the brewery on Clairemont Mesa.
