Slightly over carbonated but not obviously infected. Either we got a good bottle or the anti-hype train has killed this beer. Smells slightly off but not terrible, mocha and barrel, almost like an off barrel. Taste is good, a little thin, coffee and bourbon.

This was infected on tap at the day of the release (blatantly tart and slightly thin). It has only gotten worse, as one would expect. Tart dark fruit, high carbonation, metal, and a thin body. We ended up dropping two shots of espresso in and it was actually pretty good. Have to agree with a reviewer below, it seems like tart saison is what council does at this point as off flavors are rampant in their beer across the board (wasn't like this initially).

You can taste the start of the infection. The barrel is completely absent. Unfortunate that this happened. I heard it was a stellar brew before the infection took over.

22 ounce bottle
Appearance is very dark brown, almost black, gushing tan head that stays around for quite some time, no lacing though
Smell is plum, lacto, berries, spoiled fruit, rotten coffee, some roasted malts, funk, faint bourbon
Flavor is more of the same, tart beginning and finish, this would not even pass as a sour stout because the taste is just repulsive, roasted qualities and any whiskey barrel aging completely overtaken by lacto
Mouthfeel is thin, sour, no body whatsoever
Overall this beer was terrible, obviously infected, shame a new brewery would put out a product like this without proper quality control, they should just stick to doing tart saison varieties because the IPAs I tasted on my only visit really missed the mark as well

Definitely infected, quite a shame because you can taste the coffee and bourbon and could've been great but the funk is overpowering on the nose and the finish.

High carbonation. Tart plum-like dark fruit on the nose. Palate likewise has some tartness to it - very fruity and thin. Seems to have an early stage infection.

Big, billowing head. Heavily carbonated, way over carbonated for the style. Very thin (especially for an oatmeal stout). Fruit and sasparilla with a bit of coffee on the aroma. On the taste, a bit of barrel and malt come through, but I can't get past the funky finish. It is very obviously infected, although not undrinkable. Yet

Infected. Blah. Bad. Gross. Nasty.

Slight amount of tartness detected. I don't want to say the "i" word but I don't trust that this doesn't have something going on with it.
