Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin dark khaki head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, latte coffee, milk chocolate and nuts. Flavor is dark toasted malt with moderate char, hazelnuts, boiled coffee, dark chocolate. Charry coffee and cocoa finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Nice interaction of the malt char and coffee flavors with pleasant hazelnut character. Perhaps a bit coffee forward for the depth of the malt flavor, but overall holds together very well. I can't remember having coffee with a nut brown stout, but it is a great idea. Nice introduction to the brewery.

L - Appears as any stout should, just fine
S - Nice roasty aroma
T - Just the correct degree of sweetness for an imperial stout
F - Full bodied, just right
O - This just works, would definitely try again !

Bought this yesterday right out of the bottle I had small bits of something In my mouth, spit the beer right out. Ran the rest through a strainer in there wet tiny particles of something light brown not sure what it was. Beer tasted a bit sour no date on bottle or packaging . Nothing like any coffee stout I’ve tasted. Anyone else have that experience ?

It never ceases to amaze me how much good craft there is locally to me, here, in FLA...

This is truly a special brew - from the perfectly black liquid to it's thick, tannish head, the smell was beautifully full of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, caramel, and even hints of cinnamon. This did not necessarily translate to the taste as I only noted the roasted malts, strong coffee taste, and just a hint of chocolate, but there was this tinny finish to it I just couldn't shake. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, thick and creamy, and had a spicy after affect. This is definitely a solid brew, very enjoyable, indeed...

Poured into a 12 oz wide mouth glass not sure when it was bottled, but judging by the amazing strong coffee presence very recent. Pours a slick near pitch with a solid finger plus mocha head, that leaves the thinnest streaks of lace as it slowly settles, with excellent retention and I poured about 20 minutes out of the fridge. 4.5

Smell is roasty dry coffee grounds, vanilla bean, deep dark chocolate, and maybe a hint of hazelnut. 4.5

Taste follows really a one dimensional coffee treat, expresso, vanilla, dark chocolate, and one again just the smallest amount of hazelnut, this is a really impressive coffee stout. 4.75

Mouthfeel is a big medium, gentle carbonation, definetly dry, and at 9% ABV it goes down very easy with no hint of alcohol in the flavor. 4.5

Overall this is a really impressive Imperial Stout, I am rather blown away and I had never heard of this beer before I purchased this yesterday. 4.5

375ml bottle poured into snifter - 9%ABV.

The pour is very dark, but not black. Minimal dark cherrywood colored foam quickly dissipated, but tiny bubbles cling to the glass after every sip. Nose is slight chocolate and spent coffee grounds. Light caramel as it warms. Taste is a little of the same, but the coffee is pretty big here. Very bitter. Feint smokiness and roasted walnuts linger. Medium body with subtle carbonation. Overall I like it, and think it’s very good. Not just for the style, but across all styles.
