So this is an imperial version of Listermann's infamous Chickow! aged in vanilla whiskey barrels with vanilla added.

For such a big, barrel aged beer, this pours out looking beautiful in the glass with a big 'ol head. It's nearly opaque, with a deep, deep mahogany color. Huge vanilla and whiskey notes waft in the air without even pulling it towards my nose.

Upon tasting, it's a ton of flavor:
Vanilla, vanilla, VANILLA, whiskey, vanilla, hazelnut, vanilla, dancing specialty malt....
and vanilla. Man, it's a lot of vanilla. Thankfully, there is plenty of the barrel apparent to balance it somewhat.

I really wish they wouldn't have added the extra vanilla and just let the vanilla whiskey barrel shine on its own. Its was a really good beer though and I was happy to have tried it. A cool treat for the Chickow! cult.
