Been trying to get to this place since I started receiving membership pitches for it before it opened. Stopped in on a chilly Saturday evening around 5. Royal Oak was pretty dead (parking was just as easy as a Sunday morning!), but a table for two would have taken 45 minutes to an hour. Luckily, there were several seats available at the bar. It's a small area, connected to Tom's Oyster Bar next door. High tops everywhere along the walls of the narrow room, communal style. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Food was absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced. We shared and order of Final Cheese Dip and a Duck Confit Burger. Beer selection was okay as far as variety goes, but pricing was way out of whack compared to other, similar bars. I almost shat when I saw what they wanted for a half-snifter (about 5-6 oz) of DKML or CBS. Even regularly available ales were a buck or two over for smaller than normal pours. Suggestion: Eat here and then head to JP/Bastone, Roak, or River Rouge for drinks. Points for variety, though.

Very small place. Expect to wait at all times. Im still at a loss to describe the infatuation with this place.

They occasionally have very limited beers on tap, but it's often announced and marketed to the point those won't last long.

Food is solid but nothing spectacular. Even for the price point. Partial group seating, which is either a plus or a minus depending on your preference.

To touch on service given my 3.75 rating. I waited significantly longer than expected to get drinks than I should have both visits. This happened upon arriving and later during our meals

One of my favorite spots to grab some pints in Royal Oak. They always have real cool beer tasting and food pairing events as well. Bonus points for no TV's.

Great tap selection with a nice mix of styles. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The most impressive part of this place is the food - very well done with a small focused menu, which I enjoy. The only downside to this place is the prices on limited beers as well as the growler prices. Just recently they had BCBS at $9.50 for a 5 oz pour. As for the growlers, I was there the day they got the first wave of Alpine stuff and the bartender asked me if I wanted a fill of Nelson for $48. No thanks. Despite the limited beer gouge and bad growler math, the place does have great atmosphere, food and taps. One of the top 3 beer options in Royal Oak.

Great place. Very knowledgable wait staff. Talked with Chelsea who has a wealth of beer knowledge! Good food. Wide range of beers that change regularly. I love visiting breweries but for a brew pub this is a very good one!

A cozy place with very knowledgeable wait staff and bartenders. I was not dazzled by the beer selection but I am sure that changes frequently. My overall opinion is a solid 4, except for the tight confines (which took the score down a bit) of the facility itself. we did not try the food but i did over hear many people raving about it. we will do so next time. cheers.
