The colour is yellow (5 EBC). The firm two finger thick compact head is white. Some lacing occurs.
The smell is thick and malty with pilsner malt, some butter and hints of bitter oranges and fresh white bread. Clean sweetness. I come to think of a fresh Czech 10°.
The taste is smooth with lemon/lime bitterness, buttery notes and light pilsner malt sweetness. Quite a lot of French loaf. Medium body (larger than expected from a 3.5% beer). The aftertaste is clean with more of the white bread, pilsner malt and light yet distinct bitterness. Lemon and lemongrass in the finish.
The carbonation is medium strong, the many small bubbles are long lived. The liquid is smooth.
A solid low-alcohol interpretation of a southern German pils.
